Commanders interviewing Rob Ryan for DC

Is this a done deal? Rob Ryan will turn the Washington football team's defense around. Srsly.

They would be the NFC-east favorites if this happens. Let's hope Snyder doesn't get a clue and hire this guy.

His style of defense doesn't work in todays NFL.

Bend don't break + scoring a lot of points is todays NFL.

The 1 or 2 timely turnovers or 1 or 2 timely sacks a game is what you're going for.

Rob Ryan defense just tend to give up the big play too much.

No. Snyder just wasn't willing to pay for Bradley or Gregg Williams :/

I think you are wrong about Bradley, and if you think Williams would be open to coming here for even being paid as the highest DC when he has options else where, you did not pay enough attention to Washington around 2007-2008.

They had no choice but to go with Manusky, who is apparently only marginally better than Barry considering his previous record as DC, because no established DCs wanted to come into a situation where there is a lack of talent AND the HC is in a make-or-break year. No matter what contract you sign, it's essentially a one-year deal until Gruden gets extended.

They never had any shot at any proven commodities. Might be a moot point if McCloughan can bring this defense some players.

I don't think Manusky will be as bad. He at least had a few good seasons with average or better PPGA, and his efficiency DVOA rankings were average, which actually is a step in the right direction from Barry. The hiring of Tomsula as DL coach is a very good hire, though. He's very well respected, and as ****** as a head coach he might have been, the man's a great DL coach.

We had a great shot. Snyder has the power to make offers that cannot be refused.
