No kill mentality. Had the opportunity to tie for 1st place in the NFC East when up 21-7 and eased off the gas pedal.

I don't think "easing up" is relevant. More like the Broncos starting playing football. Skins had ZERO chance to win that game.

Not yet. The Skins led most of the game. The last few drives or so, it got out of hand. With the way the rest of the division is playing, I'm not so sure the skins are out of it.

They're not. But they have to climb over two teams. The Giants have to climb over three teams but are only 2.5 out in the loss column.

True, this league is about momentum, however. The skins looked very bad the first 4-5 games of the year, but they are starting to warm up. They could have easily beat Denver today ( just like the Cowboys could have beat the Lions). Someone in the NFC East is going to get hot here eventually, I just wonder who ti's going to be.

Hard to see that happening. The NFC East is just a pathetic 5-14 against teams outside the division. It's a top-to-bottom mediocre-to-crappy division right now.

Yeah, no they could not have "easily beaten Denver today". Denver woke up and thrashed them like chum in a shark tank. They got blown out.

No you led for most of the third quarter as you tied the game up just before half. The skins only had 1 long drive. The other tds were aided by the defense. Then Denver woke up and played like they've been playing all year.

you wouldn't of been in first with a win. 3-4 < 4-4. and that does not even include tie breaking rules.

They didn't have the KILL MENTALITY or the hunger to finish the kill. You don't lose games where you are up 14 points in the 3rd quarter unless you ease off the gas pedal.

Why is everyone so quick to attribute losses to character flaws as opposed to just getting beat?

First of all, they were only up 21-7 for a moment: the Broncos scored on the very next drive. They had one drive with a 21-14 lead, and yeah, they ran twice and threw an incomplete pass and punted. Of course, they ran a lot on their previous drives, too. Here's the drive after the Broncos tied it up:

4 14:56 1 10 WAS 20 Robert Griffin III pass incomplete deep middle intended for Josh Morgan
4 14:50 2 10 WAS 20 Robert Griffin III pass incomplete deep middle intended for Pierre Garcon
4 14:42 3 10 WAS 20 Robert Griffin III pass incomplete deep middle intended for Aldrick Robinson
4 14:36 4 10 WAS 20 Saverio Rocca punts 15 yards, out of bounds

That's not taking the foot off the gas pedal, that's just failure to execute followed by a blunder.

Also: they had only one long TD drive to that point. The other points came off turnovers. It's not like they were running up and down the field on the Broncos.
