1:31 pm "They have one of the top rushing offenses, and one of the top passing offenses. They can hurt you in so many different ways," Commanders defensive backs coach Jerry Grey said, describing the Cowboys' offensive attack.

1:30 pm Commanders defensive backs coach Jerry Grey on the starting CB: "We have sense as to who is starting. And no, I can't tell you." CB Carlos Rogers was benched last week when he blew a coverage. Grey said "he has responded very well this week."

1:20 pm LB Brian Orakpo has never been a big fan of the Cowboys. Here's his statement regarding the Commanders rival: "I don't like Dallas. Never have. I grew up in Houston."

1:19 pm When asked about facing Dallas' new starting LT Doug Free, LB Brian Orakpo smiled and said, "I'm just going to continue to come hard."

1:11 pm "He works hard after the catch." - Commanders defensive backs coach Jerry Grey describing Dallas WR Miles Austin and his strength as a receiver.

1:08 pm Commanders defensive backs coach Jerry Grey on the success Green Bay had shutting down Dallas' offense: "Green Bay did great job putting (Charles) Woodson on (Jason) Witten and taking away their biggest threat."

(Look for the Commanders to do something similar in covering witten, also probably blitz some like packers did too with their cb in certain situations, just my thoughts; joe)

1:07 pm CB Carlos Rogers on Dallas QB Tony Romo: "He does a great job looking off defenders. He's very calm back there. He is actually one of the coolest quarterbacks I've ever seen."

Either that or we should run it a ton. The Commanders don't have a great run defense anyway, so if they are going to go into that type of formation, then hopefully Dallas will commit to running it down their throat.

I take it Carlos Rogers likes the backwards hat look?

from what i heard and read, the Commanders do have a very good front 7 and are very tough to run on with haynesworth in there now

best i remember the Commanders have kept teams from scoring on them generally lower than 24 points, kinda like our defense has done this year

actually was 6 games this year; so you cant take them for granted on defense, their key to me is haynesworth and their good middlelinebacker
london fletcher with rocky mcintosh as their other speed linebacker, where Commanders are hurting is their coverage in their secondary since they lost horton and their star safety Sean Taylor that got killed a few years ago. Their other top safety that was doing great Horton is on IR. So, they are hurting at safety and at cb alittle, thats where you can attack them alittle on defense.

TIME NETWORK SCORE
9/13 @ Giants 4:15 PM ET FOX L 17 - 23
9/20 VS Rams 1:00 PM ET FOX W 9 - 7
9/27 @ Lions 1:00 PM ET FOX L 14 - 19
10/4 VS Buccaneers 1:00 PM ET FOX W 16 - 13
10/11 @ Panthers 1:00 PM ET FOX L 17 - 20
10/18 VS Chiefs 1:00 PM ET CBS L 6 - 14
10/26 VS Eagles 8:30 PM ET ESPN L 17 - 27
11/8 @ Falcons 1:00 PM ET FOX L 17 - 31
11/15 VS Broncos 1:00 PM ET CBS W 27 - 17

Yeah. LaRon Landry has been terrible this year. It wouldn't shock me at all to see Dallas go over the top many times. Reed Doughty, actually, has probably been the Skins best DB. I just don't trust him in coverage. Still a liability I believe.

You would think that to be the case, but the Skins are actually ranked 24th in run defense while ranking #1 against the pass. If Dallas can get the run game established, it will force the Skins to put eight in the box, which could lead to big plays from play action later on. Knowing they will attack Free's side, it wouldn't hurt to mix in some screen passes (finally getting Felix involved?).

Hey, as long as they win, I am good.

The Skins pass D numbers are a bit skewed. Teams have been able to run the ball on them and haven't passed as much.

Skins in recent years seem to play with more intensity against us then we do them. It's going to be a very tough game.

This is a sign of a team that can't score much and has been playing from behind. Both #'s are probably off.

I don't agree. The weaker team in this series has tended to play up to the level of the superior team. Over time it's worked both ways.

Of course since we've been the better team most years since 1960, I guess your original statement has some merit.:)

Let's see - since 1960

Super Bowl Championships
DC - 5 WR - 3

Conference Champs
DC - 10 WR - 5

Division Champs
DC - 19 WR - 6

Playoff Appearances
DC - 27 WR - 16

Head to Head matchup
DC - 57 WR - 39 2 ties

So I guess you're right. You've obviously been the better team since 1960. Owned:D

That and run right at them. I'll take Witten blocking on a CB every day of the week.

They've been attacking the edges. It's difficult to run up the middle against us, but our ends aren't very good in stopping the run, and if a RB is able to get free against our DBs, we very rarely make the first tackle because our DBs are atrocious at tackling.
