With all due respect, if I borrow your line of reasoning, I guess the Cowboys are not a "real team" because they beat the Chargers on the last play of the game and barely outscored the Niners in a shootout.

Oh yeah, they may well indeed rattle Plummer.. still I see virtually no chance the Skins can win this game. I wouldnt be surprised if the Skins get shut out.

I'm not sayin this just to dis the Skins, I just think the match up is bad for them. Denvers D's is playing rather well (only allowing 1 more YPG than the Skins), home field advantage (crowd noise), extra motivation to stop the punk Portis, etc etc.

I dont see Portis doing much of anything, and Brunell running for his life. I dont imagine Denver will hang 30 on them, but they wont have to. Probably be a game like the Den/Jax game. Jax's D aint bad either. But this one is in Denver.

I'd be totally shocked (and impressed) if the Skins find a way to win this game.

Which isnt really here nor there because it's not like they were about to go undefeated. ;)
We have a better offense and better defense than Denver. It won't us getting shut out if there were to be a shut out :)

As far as our offense "sucking" or being "weak". Define "weak"? It's ranked 14th and is getting better each week (this was only the second game which Brunell has played a full game with our starters). And besides you all, the defenses we have played weren't that bad (Chicago being 4th and Seattle 14th).
It really doesn't matter though, history has shown that winning without a great offense is more than possible.

like the Eagles

And again next week versus the Chiefs
lol

If we lose to the Broncos. Eh...whatever. They're a good team.
If we lose to the Chiefs....I'll be pissed. I know Arrowhead is a tough place to play...still...the Chiefs aren't going to be a good football team this year.

Here's my take:

The Commanders have an outstanding defense and that is mostly the reason for their 3-0 record.

Their offense on the other hand is far below average and will be the reason they won't even make the playoffs.

You heard it here - they will NOT make the playoffs.

i was going to use us as an example, but didn't want to come across the wrong way on our own forum board, with how people are ready to jump off the nearest sky scraper.. no, we are not a superbowl caliber team right now, not with the way we've been playing... being a realist, it's the truth... the way we play we're 2 plays away from being 4-0, but at the same time we're 2 plays away from being 0-4... close games don't go your way everytime

Clearly two teams from the East will make the playoffs. Name the two teams for me please?

Fair enough. Just annhilate McNabb, take him out of the game, send Williams on the first passing down you get and body slam him. And also have him decapitate Owens and wipe that smirk off his face. Time to make the division even more interesting.

Any team from the east seems to have a chance. I would say, however, that it's more likely a second wildcard might come from the south than the Skins making the playoffs.

First off, you're a Commanders fan, so: 1. Your view of the Commanders will be skewed and 2. When talking about the Cowboys, don't say "our" and "we"... you're not fooling anyone.

And you being a Cowboy fan means your views are crystal clear?

Secondly, I wasn't talking about the Cowboys in any shape, form or fashion. I was talking about how mediocre a team the Commanders are and how you Commander fans should gladly take the wins but realize that your record could very easily be much worse than it is.

We DO gladly take the wins and LOTS of teams could easily have worse records. Like, for instance... the Dallas Cowboys. :D

I've always respected the Eagles. The Giants on the other hand...? Who have they played?? Saints, Cardinals, Rams, and Chargers. The only good team they played...they have lost. None of them have really good defenses. Although the Saints are getting better. I think the Giants O is good. But it is nowhere near as good as it has been displaying in these past games. Wait till they play someone with a decent D.

I, as a skins fan am taking this Bronco game as a test. If our team wins...nomatter what the margin, i will have extreme confidence in our team...since it's at Denver and they are playing good football. If we lose by maybe just a little i'll still be confident but not over confident.

Cowboys will put it together. All they need to do is remember to run Jones on draws, not up the middle. Do the play Action with Drew. He uses his body well to hide the ball and he's a veteran. The Cowboys have been competitive in all their games.

Commanders gonna keep winning until Brunell gets tossed around, and Moss gets bumped at the line. Shove Moss around. He's a softee. He's got "Alligator Arrms". Most importantly is to put a Safety far enough to keep up with Moss.

Giants just don't have that defense. The Offense is good so far, but they have a young QB at the helm. It will be easy to shake him when he faces "mysterious" defenses like the Commanders'.

Eagles are the Eagles.

the giants weren't a bad team last year... tiki barber is quite a running back.. plaxico burress is a pretty good receiver.. and eli manning is looking to be a good QB in the works, granted they haven't played a good team aside from the chargers, whom they lost to, they've still dismantled 3 teams completely... we'll see just how good they really are over the next 3 games, as they play dallas, denver, and washington :)

My views of other teams are more clear than my views of the Cowboys... I'm biased and can't help it. When I think that I'm thinking logically about Dallas... it always turns out I'm not, lol.

However, I can see things a lot more clearly when it comes to the other 31 teams in the NFL because I see them for what they are. I think it tends to be that way for most hardcore fans of whatever team.

What you missed about my post though, is that Kartr posts under the guise of a Cowboy fan. You know... schmucks go on a teams message board, acts like he's a fan of that team but is instead a fan of a rival team. They act like the end of the world is here after a loss and always point out negatives after a win. There's a real fine line between them and a true fan who is just pessimistic... but you can usually tell the difference.

I wasn't saying other teams could have worse records... I was saying the Commanders could EASILY have a much worse record. They don't though, so congrats on a 3-0 record for the moment.

Exactly. We have played a decent Seahawk team and pretty decent Dallas team. Neither will go deep in the playoffs if they make it.

Denver will be a test for the skins.

The only team that i believe we have won by "luck" is the seahawks game on the missed field goal. But our defense got soft for a bit we should have put them away. All the other games were actually wins forced by our team.

You could very well have lost to a poor Bears team, you should have lost to Dallas, you could have lost to the Seahawks.............when you score (or don't score) like the Commanders do - you're luck will ultimately run out.
