Whoever closed that Wentz thread is family for life.
:D

I closed it but that's because the Commanders announced that Howell will actually start where that thread was talking about him playing at some point in the game.

I posted an article I found on it first but then saw you had posted tweets, so I merged those into this thread after locking the outdated thread.

Fully expect to get a heavy dose of running from Washington. They will not want to put Howell in 3rd down and long. Expect to see Robinson and Gibson getting a lot of work.
Cowboys need to get on Washington early and put the Commanders minds on the off season. Let them hang around and the desire of winning can be a big motivator even for teams out of the hunt

Love it. We should be able to confuse the hell out of him in his first start. We lead the league in forcing turnovers— I think we see at least 3 on Sunday.

I think their D will play for blood— but this move helps our D out a lot.

I predict a gritty game, but a good tuneup for a playoff schedule that will feature road games

Dallas 31
Wash 16

We should’ve been able to confuse the hell out of Joshua Dobbs, who had only been in Tennessee for eight days but he made some plays against us. We need turnovers to stop anyone. I’m not completely sold we’re going to be totally up for this game. We’ll find out on Sunday.

However, Rivera wouldn't commit to the starter in the playoffs.

Fun fact. Sam Howell had one of the largest likeness deals in college football. Reportedly 4 million per year in a deal that included mostly Bojangles $$

He was actually projected to be a first round draft pick at the start of his final year at UNC. Not that it impacts what happens Sunday. It is just that he was very highly thought of at one point.

Yeah nothing more ideal than in your final prep for the playoffs you face a rookie QB making his first start.

That should get you ready for Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.

Yep. Nice tune up with Whoopi Dobbs before that.

Dobbs has been in the league for 6 years. Howell is a rookie. Big difference

I think Cowboys will be up. Cowboys have had 3 games in 12 days including an emotional game vs Philly. The team will have had 10 days since their last game and more players who are coming off injury list.

I'm with you bigE. Whether it be the likes of first ballot HOF Gardner Minshew...
OR 8 days on the team, just called up practice squad journeyman Josh Dobbs looking fairly comfortable and effective against your defense, you can't take anyone lightly.
LOL
You have a point re Minshew, but he's been a starter in the league and has been around a long time. I don't understand the narrative of Dobbs looking effective. He barely completed half his passes, less than 6 ypa, and had a rating of 67.5. I was at the game and at no time was I worried that Dobbs would be able to put consecutive drives together to really threaten us.

Over under Howell throws 2 touchdowns and runs for two more. Then he will be named a Cowboys killer and starter for next season. In all honesty I don’t like this one bit. Two weeks in a row we play a rookie level quarterback. Then in a week we play one of two GOATS.:omg::laugh:
