NFCE Blog: Commanders Williams and Davis face 4 game suspension.

Washington Commanders offensive tackle Trent Williams and tight end Fred Davis are facing four-game suspensions following a lockout-related drug-test settlement between the league and the NFL Players Association, according to sources.

According to the sources, Williams and Davis were two of 11 players that tested positive for recreational drugs shortly after the lockout ended this summer. As part of the settlement, the sources said, the other nine positive tests by unidentified players will be nullified.

Williams and Davis are considered repeat offenders, according to the sources, and would have faced one-year bans under normal circumstances.

:laugh2:

how many repeats do you have to have to earn a one year ban? Dang!

Sk*ns fans everywhere rejoice over the prospects of an even higher draft pick. What a great season they're having when you really look at it.

I'd wait, drag this out, and suspend them for the first 4 games next year. That would be far more punishment then suspending them for 4 games in a meaningless stretch to a bad team.

The way this season is going -- at least they won't get hurt!!

I am disappointed, hopefully these two nitwits get their head on straight. Both Davis and Williams have been fantastic this season!

Exactly. We can only hope that Davis and Williams appeal it. That should take some time. And then lose the appeal and get a 4 game suspension to start the season.:)

Doubt it will happen, though. Too bad.

Still nice having two cornerstones of the Skins one small toke and pee away from a one year ban.

I'd be hitting the pipe too if I had any part in the pathetic franchise.

Williams has already accepted it. Davis probably will as well.

The only smart thing they have done in this situation.

In a word, the 2 of them are *******es. And I am one who thinks pot should be legal, but the rules of your profession are pretty black and white

Ever since their tight end (Yes I forgot his name. He's that irrelevant :laugh2: ) made those idiotic comments about Tony they've gone downhill. Karma is a *****.

This lack of judgement assures us of 4-12 (with the Pats, @Giants, Vikings and @Eagles)

Hopefully the Vikings get another win before us. Looking like a top 5 pick

nah. You'll beat the Eagles and the Vikings. They're that terrible.

:)

I dunno -- the Eagles are getting Vick back. Without Williams and Davis, it will be really hard to win another game.

Personally I really don't care anymore. With a good QB -- not even an elite one, just a good one -- the Commanders have at least 3 more wins (Jets, Eagles, Dolphins, 9ers all immediately come to mind as possible wins)

100% accurate -- there is no defense for these two. None. I hope this embarrassment is enough to get their head on straight.

The worse part is the drug tests are set up to be beat even while using. It is pretty bad when you can't even make the effort to pass it.

Perhaps the only reason they were good was they were stoned...

:D
