The Kosier signing left me scratching my head so I went to a Lions Message board to see what the fans thought of him. Here are some of the random comments:

That wouldn't be a bad situation for him. They don't have to run behind him and he'll be pretty good keeping Bledsoe upright.

they can have one of moochs sorry *** players

best suited for the bench

He is at best a very average player. I say he is better suited for the G position.

He should never play tackle. He's a guard, he's a pretty decent pass blocking gaurd at that.

lol 15 million have fun with that

He started 16 games at LT for the 2-14 2004 49ers. You don't want him at tackle.

Kosier was a good player to have on roster being able to play bot OT spots and both OG's.

Kosier was a loss to Lions I hope we can get a equal replacement. Maybe we have one they think can step in on roster now

One thing I noticed was that he was pretty bad at LT but the games he started at RT the Lions gained a lot of yards.

interesting. I see this guy as the ultimate utility lineman- can back up 4 of 5 positions. With Gurode back we have center covered. I can see Fabini being grabbed to fight it out with Columbo and Pettiti for RT.

Very good signing!

I just watched the Cowboys vs Lions game...Kosier did an outstanding job at left guard. He easily handled Ellis and Canty and only on a couple of pass plays did Glover get the better of him.

For a couple of plays at the end of the first half, Kosier had to move over to left tackle because of an injury to the tackle. He did a great job of blocking Ware on an obvious passing down.

This guy has a high motor and can pull as well as anyone I've seen. Very quick feet!

We're going to need his pulling abilities when we face the Panthers, because their's no way we run up the middle with that monster they just signed.

haha

I like the signing, but we've gotta face the facts--the Detroit Lions didn't want him.

I can't get past that!

Actually comments from a the board of a player's former team are usually irrelevant. A team lets a player go and he is always crap..."else we would have kept him".

I'm not excited about the signing but I'll give it a chance.

Seems to me that we had him as a top priority FA, even though he was off the radar of every other team in the league.

In BP we trust...

Younger, more mobile Linemen. He's a depth add to compete.

New CBA - new $
Larry Allen's jet is where now?

Lions couldn't afford to keep him and are trying to save face on the Woody (fat slob) signing.

I like it - It addresses a need, wether starter or depth. Not a bad start.

Um, when's the last time Dallas signed or drafted a good offensive lineman? Allen in '94?

A young lineman and we do not have to go through the 2 to 3 year growing pains we have gone through with some of our young lineman--I like the signing
it sounds like some of his worst games came in the first couple years he was in the league..

Don't buy the "in God (read Parcells) we trust. Not when it comes to our OL. Don't know if he will be a starter and where does that leave Peterman. Could Kosier be next RT. And somewhere I read on here we interested in Neal of NE who also a OG. I do know that no way we paid that kind of money for a backup. Jets just cut OL who could in a pinch play all 5 positions including C and he was getting $2.5M.

We have to trust in BP; the alternative is to trust in JJ. (God, no! Not again!)

Here's where we find out if our new scouting staff is on the ball.

Actually for a player that can step in at 4 different positions that is money well spent. THIS way we can go into a game with only 7 O linemen active; allowing us to activate other players at LB and DL. THAT is worth serious money.
