Comp picks in past

I dont mind the value shopping. I do mind the lack of organizational plan of how they want to build a team.

El Chespo may be cheap but look at all these sucessful comp picks he picked up due to letting free agents go.

Prescott
Schultz
Tyler Biadicz
Donovan Wilson
Cedric Wilson
Even Mike White

AND NOW CLARK

QUIT hating on my boy El Cheapo
I had no problem with Dallas going the cheap route, because I knew it would lead to better drafting. If you're going to let guys walk, go bottom bind hunting in free agency, then you better draft well. They had to do their due diligence in the draft. More homework, better decisions.

Looks like the plan is pretty clear to me. Build exclusively through the draft and fill glaring holes with mid-low tier free agents. It keeps the Cowboys a contender for playoff spots year in and year out, and keeps the money flowing in and gives Mr. Jones a chance to be in the conversation.

Their building the team like the Peyton Manning Colts. Load up on offense and get after the QB on defense. The offense is suppose to establish a lead with all of its talent. Then the defense is suppose to harass the opposing quarterback, as his team goes pass happy trying to catch up. But having a defense full of pass rushers at DE and DT has left them vulnerable against the run in years past.

The cowboys team identity is exactly that. Good enough to be in a winning conversation. Not great enough to actually win Conference titles or rings. #NotAwful #NotGreat #FairlyMiddling

Agreed and I might add, get rid of guys before their expiration date so that you can get decent compensation.

When are we going to get Peyton Manning to build the team around?

When we let a guy go add those guys to the replacement money player and it looks alot better!

so in Dak's situation we got the pick from letting Parnell go then got ron Leary to replace him he was a tackle in the beginning. So Dak plus Leary for Parnell. Big win for us.

This is what el chespo does. He had 4 major components to our offense last plus a st safety from these comp picks

Cowboys Gave Up:
  • 4th Round Compensatory Pick (136th overall) received for Anthony Hitchens
Cowboys Received And Drafted:
  • 5th Round Pick (158th Overall): Michael Jackson, Cornerback, Miami
  • 6th Round Pick (213th Overall): Donovan Wilson, Safety, Texas A&M
  • 7th Round Pick (218th Overall): Mike Weber, Running back, Ohio State

  • Here is how they got d wilson from losing hitchens then they were able to get LVE. So LVE plus Wilson for hitchens totally inflated contract. Dude not only doesnt care who leaves he WANTS THEM TO!!!!

If we can get an elite coach OR an elite QB (Indy had both) then this strategy is perfect.

Dak is good to very good but not elite, Mike is average to good but not elite. Without one or the other being at the top of their field we need some luck and good fortune to make a SB run.

2022 season has given us these circumstances with a weak NFC. Let’s hope things bounce our way.

That no plan stuff went out the window with Garrett. Since MM has been here there has been a plan. Build up the defense, remake the Oline and get the running game going again. Be a tough power team on both sides of the ball.

A distinct strategy to build through the draft and go with a youth movement. Develop and play young talent. Getting rid of aging high priced veterans like Jaylo Smith, Collins, Cooper. Next year Zeke and Tyron Smith will be gone.
