COMPARE: Marion Barber III - LaDanian Tomlinson

they don't compare. only thing they have in common is they are both better than julius jones

They don't really compare at all. LT has scary football speed, and moves to go along with it. While Barber is fun to watch because he tries hard and overachieves, he has nowhere near the physical skill set that LT has. He can't catch like LT, he can't make people miss like LT, he's not an everydown back like LT.

I'm not sure what you're looking for. They both run hard. Barber dances more whereas LT finds his hole and kills you with it. But they both run hard. So there is that.

They don't compare but I will say this about Barber he adds a spark to the offense when he is in the lineup.

I see some real flashes of greatness in Barber.

How do they compare? contrast?

You mean they're not the same person?

I thought it was like a Clark Kent/Superman type deal.:D

:hammer:

The more I see the guy the more I like him. He may or may not be an every down back but he runs with heart.

Hold your ears folks, it's SHOWTIME!!!

I will not compare him to LT who will go down as one of the greatest running backs in the history of the NFL.

But Marion Barber III is terribly underrated in the eyes of the media and it seems the fans.

"Not a full time back". Give me a break. His rookie year he started in JJ's absence because of injury, and reeled off over 100 yards rushing and a couple of highlight reel TDs diving for the endzone. All he does when he plays is move the chains and bring an energy to the team that erupts on the field.

I simply do not understand the perception, (and that is all it is), that MB3 can't be a full time back.

The first time I watched him play was in the Music City Bowl his Sr. year at Minnesota and he was simply THE best player on the field and that included Lawrence Maroney. An Alabama defense that a few weeks before had shut down Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown had no answer for Barber. He ran like a man possessed. Just like he runs for the Cowboys. He ended that game with about 185 yards rushing, a couple of TDs and the MVP trophy.

Give the man his due and give him the ball.
