One thing I've noticed is we seem to always play to the level of our competition. We don't really blow teams out, lose to bad teams, and beat the saints. it's just like when we beat the colts a few years back. Real frustrating.

Two weeks ago we were a bad team that's 1-5 against winning teams. Now we play to the level of our competition and lose to bad teams?

Yeah, I hope we can come and play like that vs the skins and just stomp them. Instead of barely winning 7-6.

I think is INCONSISTENCY, they play like contenders one game and pretenders other, this is so frustrating but I BELIEVE in cowboys.

Really hope good games vs Commanders and eagles.

Bad teams might be a stretch...but the Cowboys are better than Denver, GB and NYG who beat us.

Not so sure about that. GB's defense is as good as ours and their offense is a little bit better. Considering they had homefield advantage, I would say they are a better team than us.

NYG beat us twice so there is no question on a head-to-head basis they are better than us.

Denver is hard to say - they are very inconsistent. On a good week they beat us. On a bad week, we beat them.

I think we overrate our team. Against top 10 scoring defenses we have averaged 9 ppg. Against mediocre defenses we have averaged only 15 ppg. It is against the bad defenses where we have feasted averaging 31 ppg. So it looks like our offense is just not very good unless playing against inferior competition. It is hard to beat good teams scoring so few points.

I think what he's trying to say is on our best day, we beat all those teams on their best day.

I cant argue that one bit.

On our best day we can't score against the likes of GB or Denver so it is hard to beat them unless our defense is going to pitch a near shutout. Our defense is good but is not good enough to do that very often.

We overrate our offense. We can only score against bottom half of the league offenses. We just haven't realized that teams that normally are good defensively like NYG (very bad) and Philly (mediocre) aren't as good as they normally have been. It then serves to deceive us.

Heck, SD held us to 10 points until Romo's last minute TD drive and they aren't even very good defensively and give up about 21 ppg on average.

Disagree.

When we're on our game, there are very few teams in this league capable of beating us.

I think you've gotta hope that the Cowboys have improved, matured, and (finally) turned the corner.

One big difference is that there are some new additions to the team who are making significant contributions (e.g., Brooking, Jenkins, Spencer). Maybe these additions are enough to put the Cowboys over the top.

IMO, although the jury may still be out on the Cowboys offense, the Cowboys defense now has the look of a reliable, consistent, high quality unit.

That's just it. We've been very consistent this year. We beat the bad teams, and win some of our games against good team and lose others. i'll agree that we could easily have won v. DEN and both Giants games. I don't think we're better than those teams, though, because those teams don't make the kinds of mistakes we make that get us beat. We have an aversion to being realistic about our prospects, and we overlook the mistakes this team makes that get us beat.

Why would you think our performances against Gb and Denver were on our best day?

My point is that we just don't score points against good defenses so we aren't very likely to beat those teams as they have good defenses. Our only chance of beating those teams is if their defenses have a bad day but you said the other team was going to play their best, too.
