Competitive Greatness

Competitive Greatness cannot be measured by stats. Danny White had better stats than Staubach. Staubach wasn't the fastest, couldn't throw it the farthest, but he had IT. Romo can put up great stats, and can do amazing things on the field, but the IT just isn't there. That's why we all get the knot in our stomach in the fourth quarter. The same knot is in his stomach.

you cannot put these last 2 losses on romo
if anything he is the reason we were even in these games

romo played absolutely lights out against the giants (which by the way, I would characterize as a "big game")

the team lost but romo was not the reason

You mean with 45 sec and no timeouts. Romo drives 50 yds to get us into FG range but our special teams let the FG get blocked??

You mean last week Romo drove offense into FG range again with few seconds left but our STUPID coach decides not to run more plays to gain yds and our kicker missed the FG?

Hello McFly...Hello...

When did our fanbase become apologists for a proven mediocrity at QB?
Romo reminds me of this era's Danny White- a good, sometimes great QB who just...for whatever reasons, couldn't get over the hump.
Like White, Romo followed a legend. Like White, Romo has not won the BIG games.
If some of the apologists are fine with a playoff win once every blue moon, and epic blowouts & missed opportunities vs NFC rivals MOST of the time, then Romo is your guy.
All I know is another year is going by where they're likely gonna sit at home, and all thats left are the excuses....AGAIN!
We face the Iggles in a coupla weeks- how many of you are confident of a good showing in that game?
Personally, I can see odds of a win at about 50/50. But with this team/franchise/QB....I'm expecting another prime time blowout, of which we've seen many, & have become accustomed to in the Romo Era.
If that's fine with some of you....ask yourselves why. Sheesh.

I don't feel confident about this team BECAUSE of our DEFENSE and our INEXPERIENCED HEADCOACH.

Romo is really one of few players that actually keeps us in the game. Reason he gets in trouble is because he is OVERCOMPENSATING for rest of this team. When he gets help, he is lights out MOST OF THE TIME.

This thread lacks competitive greatness.

It's true. When did our posters become apologists for mediocre threads? The problems with this thread start at the top, with the OP. Until we get a better OP nothing will change.

Tebow has it. Staubauch had it. Aikman had it. I'm sorry to say guys, but Romo doesn't.

Micheal Irvin had it to, and he said he'd rather play with Tebow than Romo. Nuff said.

Dude seriously. You and 50pennies should like go to DisneyLand together.

Call each other up and share companion tickets back and forth. That way its free and you can fly for free.

Take like a 5 week vacation.

Here is your stick back for stirrin up another thread here real soon.

I was thinking if there is a QB coming out of the draft that can guarantee me that he will complete 67% of his passes, throw for 321 yards, throw 4 TD passes, no INTs and no fumbles, I say we draft him.

Even if he does not have "it". I will take my chances.

Let's just bench Romo, start McGee and let everyone see how much better our Offense is next week, okay ?

4 TDs. 0 INTs. 321 yards passing. Brought us back from behind 4 times in the game.

And some fans still whine. Mind boggling.

I was talking with an old friend today and he thinks the Defense is fine. "This one is on Romo." Reminds me why I never did drugs.

I hate it when people who aren't paying attention speak.

Today at Home Depot the check out guy told me we have to get rid of that Kicker.

I did not speak. I will not defend the Kicker, but that is just plain stupid.
