Theortically how interested would you guys be if the Rams parted ways with Jimmy Kennedy? He's been a bust so far, and I read some where that the Rams are going to use Adam Carriker at DT not end. Depending on how camp goes for him, I can see him being released.

Fat, bust, underperforming, never plays hard, inconsistant player who is young and naturally because of his girth would be a perfect fit for NT for us even though he has never played in a 3-4 before?

Same here. Wasn't that also a belief of Parcells? Something like "somebody and one point in time thought very highly of this player"?

Bringing in a player who has been labeled a bust but who is still young for the most part is a low risk investment, he would be worth a look I'd think as long as he's cheap.

i say sign him to a super long deal, that invloves abuot 80 million dollars, and once incentive. He has to play every game. I bet you he would want to play then.

He's not a terrible player -- he just wasn't what you'd hope for from a high pick. He's shown over the last two years that he can play in the NFL -- 6'4" 325 don't grow on trees, so if he keeps his motivation level up, he'll have a job for a long while.

I doubt they are going to cut him though. I'd be surprised if they couldn't get a pick for the guy.

Parcells did definitely say that...he said he got it from Al Davis. People can say what they want about Al Davis, but he resurrected a ton of careers in Oakland.

That's what I thought, I'm sure it wasn't an exact quote but I was thinking it was something like that. I forgot about him saying he learned it from Al Davis. Thanks for jogging my memory there.

I could be wrong, but I doubt the NT would move around much more in this scheme.

This is a little along the lines of Marc Columbo. He did have injury issues that Kennedy did not have, but there are some similiarities in that they were not the players the teams that drafted them thought they would be. Columbo is now a key cog to this team. I honestly think that his signing was the most important of any of the signings/additions we had this year.

Kennedy reminds me of Jonathan Sullivan - another nose tackle bust who I believe is now out of the league. Some of these guys lose all ambition as soon as they get that bonus check.

The 2003 draft is littered with linemen bust on both the offensive and defensive lines.

'Gems' like Sullivan, Kennedy, Michael Haynes, Jerome McDougle, William Joseph, and Kwame Harris.
