Conditioning

That is by design of the coaching staff.

It started with Marinelli's DL rotation. Marinelli "guarantees" players that if the go "110%" that he will keep them rested (i.e. He does not want the players to conserve energy while on the field).

They started doing that with Zeke a year or two ago.

It is actually one of the better things this coaching staff has done.

Not really a good design to have 3 of your starting linemen on the sidelines on a critical drive it the 4th quarter when they are in the red zone. Seen it a couple of times this year.

One would think they would have better timing on when they do their rotations.

What is up with the conditioning with players on this team?

I have never seen a star running back pull himself out of a game as much as Zeke does. Last week, down by 7, Zeke runs the ball to the NE 12 yard and promptly signals Pollard to come into the game as he trots off.

Tank and other defensive linemen always seem to be rotating out of the field inside their own 30-yard line. Cooper runs a few routes than is off the field.

I think it shows up late in games and is part of the problem with this team not being mentally tough.

I've noticed and posted about that very thing lately. The Cowboys sorely need to get back to the way they were in the past when they outplayed and outlasted virtually every team in the league. Yes, the NFLPA contract forbids the 2-a-days and limits practices to the point of rendering teams significantly less conditioned now.

Nowadays, it's up to the conditioning coach and the individual players to do all they can to assure their physical readiness and condition. Jimmy Johnson often used to preach that "being tired makes cowards of us all." I would only hope those words might become this team's mantra going forward.

another STUPID thread.. a lot of players come out on plays , he ALSO BLOCKS AND CATCHES HES IN A LOT etc..hes 4th in the league for RB in carries this year top 6 in rushing and most of the reason hes having down year is the play calling..

HIS CONTRACT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REASON TO HATE ON HIM.... sure hes not at the very top BMOC this season but I see that more because we went heavier on passing this year vs getting him like 20 more yards a game which would get him at the top again, thats like 6 more carries maybe per game.. its as simple as that..

all this talk about Pollard being faster and break more tackles and wanting him in more, well they've tried that and sorry hes not getting it done but it was demand here by the great internet GMs, so you are getting your wish.. more preseason hype but you cant have it both ways..it was simply odd to us he came out but im sure there was reason..

heck at the end of the MN game you guys ripped coaches for running and throwing to zeke , now he comes out to much..

yet that narrative is crushed because the stats says he has the 4th most carries in the league and hes a 3 down back ie stays in to block and goes out in patterns..IMO hes not out of shape..they also played a game 3 days prior and will again 7 days later.. 3 in 12 days im guessing you have to self monitor your breaks..

Zeke has has more carries the last 4 seasons than any RB in the league/..yet you think you hes not in shape..lmao im thinking he knows how to take care of himself.. hes also never missed game due to injury, that doesnt happen unless you are in shape..RBs are battering rams and hes keeps on coming..

Amaris been hurt and they are limiting him, they dont target WRs every play but they go out in patterns nearly every snap or block...

another overreaction from cyber genius's who KNOW NOTHING...

how about the entire team and coaching staff stop making mistakes and executing's and we will win more games..

Again I ask, WHAT GAMES ARE PEOPLE WATCHING?

Zeke is 3rd in the NFL in total snaps and % of snaps played among RBs lmao. He's also the only back asked to block as much as he does.

Good lord.

And that is why, Zeke will remain a scrub jag his remaining time in the NFL...NOT one of them plays with conviction or heart...and THAT is on the HC period.
Doesn't that pretty much sum up the entire nfl player mentality?

I am sure there are a few exceptions but for the most part, it explains a lot about today's game. jmho

I don't agree with the first sentence, (another STUPID thread), but everything else is spot on.

Between Pappy and ACR there is nothing about this team that is to be liked.

Its just more #ZekeHate by some of the "Fans" on here.

If Zeke doesn't get 100 rushing yards a game, they start to hate on him.

Right because criticism always equals hate.

Sad how thin-skinned people are these days.

Maybe because some of us can remember waaaay back to a time when another RB held out, then got his payday BUT continued to rack up rushing seasons and still holds the record for most td's etc...Zeke not so much, he missed training camp while sucking down cocktails in cabo, comes in looking like a lard butt and runs like one to boot. Not hating on the guy, but anyone watching can see, he is just not running with conviction any longer.

No accountability in Dallas. Terrible coaching. Lazy, spoiled players.

Of course the conditioning stinks.

This commentary about Zeke isn't criticism.

He is the hardest-worked RB in the league - by a landslide - and does not come off the field and has never been hurt in his career. So yes, this thread is just hate. It's certainly not based on any sense of...reality.

This is called non-talent and conditioning has nothing to do with it.....Red Zone 29th last season wonder where we are this season?

Taking himself off the field in the 4th quarter when you are trailing by 4 points and on the opponent 12 yard line is a fair criticism.

No it isn't, it's stupid. If he stayed in b/c he was gassed and got caught from behind, you'd be saying the exact opposite.

We also don't know that the coaches aren't just changing personnel.

Yes, I do know because I was watching him put up his hand and run to the sideline which clearly means he was taking himself out of the game.

With the game on the line, I want him on the field, a little tired or not, suck it up!

No, you don't know. A player could raise their hand coming off to be ID'd for the count to 11.

Come on, give it up, he ran the ball for 5 yards, then started to jog to the sideline with his hand up. He pulls himself from the game all the time.
