He was good enough to start at one point in his career the knee injury he got in 2016 left him unable to reclaim his starting role last year. Word is that he's a good run blocker and perhaps average at pass pro. Sounds like he may be an upgrade over Chaz at pass pro but then, who isn't? He won't be seen at center, though, since he's never played there. Some fans at KC hated to see him go, while others were less enamored. The main thing is that he does appear to be an upgrade over Chaz Green. That, in itself, makes the trade worthwhile.

Tackle : Smith, Collins, Fleming (3)

Guard : Martin, Williams, Edwards, Ehinger (4)

Center : Frederick, Looney (2)

That’s 9. If Frederick goes to IR and we sign a guy, still likely means Green is finally off of the roster.

It was similar to the Switzer-Ward trade. Both teams flipped somebody they don't want anymore.

I will take it. Was hearing that the egirls have a lineman that played rugby that had a good preseason but maybe cut or PS. They were saying he has a chance for a 53 man roster somewhere. Sounds like a JJ type of gamble.

Ross Tucker on Sirus thinks that guy is going to be an All Pro one day.

Not a fan of Ross Tucker, but wanted to share someone's thoughts on a player.

They were showing some of his highlights. He blocks pretty good now but needs to learn a lot. Our monsters could take him in and teach him. They think the egirls will PS him. I would poach him. Seems like ligit player.

Holy crap dude, lighten up....we just traded an UDFA in a position we didn't need for a guy that has starting experience at guard which we need....it was a good move

We need to make the bottoms 3rd of the roster better and moves like this do it...you want depth, here you go....not starter material but had played enough to provide a depth upgrade
Yeah, we had a major hole at backup OL, and we filled it. Great trade.

Kadeem Edwards isn't 53 worthy, IMO, and his practice squad eligibility is gone.

The trade for Patrick Ehinger hopefully makes Edwards expendable.

We still need to find a reserve center until Travis Frederick's long term status for this season is determined.

The team will have to dress 8 OL for games instead of the preferred 7.

I'd like to add a new fourth OT, but it looks like slim pickings, so good luck checking off that box. Cam Fleming inspires no confidence as the current swing tackle and Chaz Green has no future here. I hoped he would bounce back this summer, but a change of scenery is probably what's needed. We need to address 3rd OT in the off-season (free agency or trading) and try to draft a good developmental 4th OT next April.
