Spears has frustrated me since day 1. Complaining about the coach, the system, etc. He's a busted #1 to me.

Spears isn't a bust.

He just isn't the player we thought we were going to get.

You are forgetting that every player we draft has to be an all pro or they are a bust. :laugh1:

Especially a #1. A #1 that Parcells was going to use the #11 pick with.

I understand that.

What I dont understand is how you can argue against us drafting Spears unless you never saw the guy play in College.

He was an absolute monster.

Now Bobby Carpenter I can see how people could argue with us drafting him.

Personally I think when Carpenter leaves Dallas he is going to have a nice career somewhere else as a 4-3 linebacker and everyone will be pissed that we never let him play here.

People always say that but if Parcells wanted to take him over Ware he could have easily done it.

I was against TO coming here.

I'm against us trading for Jones.

What the big deal with that?

I was against TO....I couldnt' stand him. I thought he was an idiot..But when we signed him, he became our "idiot" so I supported him. So far, he's proven me wrong and I'm glad for it.

He was a gamble that paid off....

I'm against Jones...I don't want to see him come here. But when he does...I'll try my best to support him. Especially if he looks like he's trying to turn his life around.

But I don't see it happening. He's shown a pattern of selfish behavior that alarms me. Now...if we get him...I hope I'm very wrong.

It always amazes me to see folks say, "I'm gonna write down all the names of the people that disagree with me..."

What's the big deal about being right or wrong about a player?

That's a bit of a stretch. He was never much of a pass-rusher in college, so I'm not sure why anyone would expect him to be in the NFL.

I gotta agree with with the post above yours. While he's clearly not as good as we hoped, considering he was picked 20th and has started 42 games out of a possible 48 and has been a major part of a defense that has been ranked 6th (2007), 10th (2006) and 15th (2005) since he's been here, he's less of a bust than Greg Eliis was after 3 years.

Ellis did have 2 long TD runs in his rookie year. :) I think people could see Ellis' potential in his first few years (even though he broke his leg). I see 0 potential for Spears. Spears is what he is. Which is an avg player at best....

GOOD! Now bring Chad in to do the show and he can tell everyone how much he would like to be a cowboy again! Maybe if Jerry hears him say it enough he will make Chad's wish come true.

funniest post I've seen! you should have a mug shot of him too.:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

Pacman is different than TO. He's a criminal. He gets in trouble in Nashville and he will be in Dallas where it's bright lights and big city. He WILL get in trouble in Dallas and he WILL be suspended again when he's allowed to play.

Michael Irvin was a criminal too. He seems to have changed but since you said so emphatically that he WILL get in trouble i guess thats the end of the discussion..........yawn.

I didn't mind the Spears pick as much as I hated the Bobby Crapenter pick but I can see him doing well in a 4-3 Scheme - but he is not cut out for our D

We need Pacman - and believe me he is worth the hype - he was nasty in college... let's recap his NFL stats:

Started more than 10 games his rookie season
44 tackles and 10 pass deflections in his rookie year on defense
1,399 combined return yards and 1 TD

Sophmore year:
62 tackles
1 sack
1 forced fumble
12 deflected passes
4 interceptions (1 returned for a TD)
521 Kick Return yards
440 punt return yards and tied for NFL-high with 3 punt return touchdowns.

Pacman would have been a pro-bowl contender had he not gotten in trouble

I can almost say without a doubt that put a star on his helmet and he will go to Hawaii next year

This post is perfect.

People aren't allowed to change their minds when it comes to football message boards bro, lol.

T.O. was a moron and it was a huge risk to bring him in to the Cowboys. Looks like he changed his ways and that's backed up by him even saying he learned from his past mistakes and that he's a different person today then he was three years ago.

Right now I don't think a risk for Pacman is worth it, but I am going to root for him if he wears a Dallas Cowboy's jersey because the team comes before any one player.

People need to stop trying to hate other Cowboys fans because there opinion differs about what players we like and don't like, in the end we are Cowboys fans and that's often forgotten on the message boards because of a few guys who want to look like 'armchair GM's'.

It's comical.

Hopefully PacMan doesn't say anything stupid because we all know he isn't the sharpest knife in the world.

Irvin was stupid. No one will say that he wasn't a decent guy.

Pacman on the other hand. Check yourself for his record since college: http://bumpshack.com/2007/03/02/pacman-jones-criminal-record/

I don't think these two people are the same.
