A tribute to Emmitt. People argue that he did it all, because of his O-line. No RB truly does it on his own but this shows you it wasn't all the O-line.

You tend to forget the shifty little moves he had as well as power and some giddy up. He did this while playing in the best division and against S.F. years.

Oh, man! I had almost forgotten what an incredible beast Emmitt was when he was in his prime! I always knew he was special, but I seriously had forgotten all those incredible runs where he looked like he was stopped, they had him dead to rights, and he would just keep his feet and either spin out of trouble, or throw the guy off like a little kid! How a man that small had so much raw power is just bizarre! Here's to Emmitt, the greatest of all time!!!

Emmitt's vision was amazing

how he anticipated any opening, whether a hole in the LOS or in the 2nd level amid defenders

his balance too...oh boy

edit: It's sad that I'm fawning, looking back at Marion Barber highlights already. I really think the dude has been hurting.

Emmitt's nick should have Easy Emmitt Smith, because he made it look so damned easy. Everyone raves about Emmitt's vision, and his OLine, but he had many more attributes of greatness:

balance - ran low to ground, lean was legendary
elusiveness - juked many defenders out of their socks, sometimes whole team
agility - his spin move was second only to Barry's, maybe
power - almost never tackled by one/first guy, fond of giving piggy backs
physicality - nasty blocker, underrated stiff arm
acceleration - rarely caught from behind, no matter his 40 time

In addition, his other RB skills were vastly underrated: blocking (there were very few who blocked as well, not many HOFers), receiving (had great hands to go along with his unbelievable RAC) and nose for the end zone (there was no one better in the redzone, no one).

He was unbelievable and that is why Mr. Smith goes to Canton.

Emmitt was seriously the reason I became a football fan and Cowboys fan. No one in my family watched football, and I was only 8 when I first saw Emmitt play. I always wanted to be him. I hate when people discredit him because of the talent on the team. Emmitt was amazing and arguably the best vision of any rb in history.

This is why he is my all-time favorite NFL player.

Emmitt was the best I've ever seen at maximizing every run. He's also the only player I've ever seen jump over a defender who is on the ground, land on the same foot from which he took off, then immediately cut using that same foot.

Emmitt was great.

And I agree MB never got back to his pre-injury ability.

I'll never forget that stiff arm Emmitt had. That thing was wicked.
