I caught part of the second half last night vs Texas Tech and it was a great game. Questionable calls to be sure but great game.

Now WVU and Marshall will be my main teams but I am now a Cougars fan as well.

I would love to see them win all of their games...since they do not play Marshall this year in Conference USA.:D

I'll just say thx on behalf on my Cougars... :D

I went to a party last night and wished I'd stayed home to watch the game. I listened to the beginning and then end in the car...and tracked it on ESPN.com on my phone.

Most of my friends are alums so we were all checking throughout. We were yelling this at the party last night.

Whoooooooosssssseeeeeeee Hoooouuuusssee?!

Coooooooooggggsssss Hoooouuuusssee!

:laugh2:

And then on the radio, they were playing Jay-z's "Run this Town" in honor of the Coogs last night. Fun times..

One of the most exciting games that I've watched all season. This is one of those games that captures the true essence of what college football is all about.

That was a great game and a big one for the Home Town Cougars, it has been a while since the U of H has been competitive

No one may care, but the Coogs are #12 now..

I'm happy for them hope they can remain undefeated the remainder of the season and earn a bid for one of the BCS bowl games

A BCS Bowl would be huge, but I have to admit, I'd take any bowl as long as it's not the freaking Fort Worth Bowl or some other 8th-level bowl.

A BCS though would make recruiting a lot easier for Houston. Like you I think any 2nd tier bowl game would be big for Houston but if they can make it through the season with no loses I think they will get a chance at one of the BCS bowl games

Well, it was a nice two weeks. :(

As a Miners fan, I sure didn't see this coming... I don't know what Donald Buckram had for breakfast (at this point, he's got 32 carries for 264 yards and 4 TDs), but they need to make it his daily staple...

Get hammered by Texas 64-7 one week, then turn around and drop the hammer on the 12th ranked Cougars... amazing...

From the live blog I was tracking, it's the same problem for UH as it's been for the past five years or so. No defense.

It's slightly better this year, but that's not saying much considering they're getting steamrolled.

Grr..

Well like I stated after last week's game, I felt Price was an idiot for not running the ball more in the first half. As a Texas fan, I am glad he had such a horrible game plan. Still, I feel he did a great disservice to his team by not trying to get the ball in the hand of his best offensive player more often.

It's part of the maturation process of a burgeoning program, or a program attempting to regain national prominence -- such as the Houston Cougars.

Sometimes, as part of the growing process, they lose to vastly inferior opponents. For instance, early in Mack Brown's tenure, the Longhorns lost to NC State at home and Stanford -- a team they had beaten by over 50 points the previous season -- on the road.

It happens. You're still improving. Personally, I'm rooting for the reemergence of all former SWC teams, including Houston, TCU, and SMU.

Just read some nearly unbelievable stats-- the losing Cougars ran 104 plays in that game... 76 of those were Case Keenum passes... and he was only sacked once...

The Miners ran just 71 plays... how the hell did they win??

104 plays in one game, I can't believe it...

Yeah, instead of 64-7, the Miners might only have lost by 52-17... :D

It's amazing they go from #12 to out of the rankings.. Gah, I'd at least thought they'd drop to the 20s.

Sux..
