Watching Romo last night was a real pleasure. I have had my doubts about him, especially since the last half of last season, but in my opinion he has proven that he can play. Whether he ever goes on to do what Staubach and Aikman did, win championships, remains to be seen, but whether or not he is a legitimate NFL Quarterback, whether he has that ability or not, is settled.
He does not have the biggest arm, but it is big enough to play the position well. What he has, that you can't teach, is feel for a pass rush and the uncanny ability to keep his head about him while he is moving around and avoiding the rush. The number of passes that he completed last night when he would have been sacked just a half second later was unreal.
I'm not a band wagon guy for anybody. I think those who are saying that he is already better than Staubach and Aikman are either just having fun, or are WAY too premature and silly. But having been an original doubter, I just wanted to come in and say "good for Tony", he has made a believer out of at least one doubter.
Again, whether he leads us to championships or not is still to be seen, but I already put him on the Danny White level. That is just my take.
