I focused on CW a lot last night just to see how he would hold up.
It is evident that he lacks the strength at this point in his early development.
It' s going to take a full season and offseason of strength training to get to where he needs to be.
In the meantime, he will have to overcome this by improving his technique to compensate.
I'm afraid that teams will put their best D Tackle over him and try to overwhelm him.
It will be up to Frederick and Smith to help him out as much as possible. You could see TF help out CW on the TD Pass to Gallup.
It's a short sample size but I think he will be fine long term. There will just be some growing pains early on.

Always a growing experience with any rookie. Except most RB's..they have it or they don't. Unless they improve on blitz pickups and some route running.

So let us see how he does next game. Then will see if he is consistent. May play better, but get beat some too. But he needs the reps.

B- but he’s a rook and has time plus sand which with the real starters he will be fine

If Conner Williams is a problem for the offense, then the entire offensive coaching staff should be fired. In between Tyron and Travis, there is no reason why his lack of upper body strength should limit this offense in any way.

They played the crap out of him. Trying to catch him up to the others quickly.

I'm not certain he's the best option at RG yet. He needs to add strength badly.

You just gave me a nightmare tonight of Fletcher Cox lining up over Williams.

The one pressure he gave up was pretty egregious. But I thought he missed some assignments last night too. But frankly, I think that's to be expected from a rookie making his first start. A few times, it looked like he blocked the wrong guy on some run plays.

So he will be fine and we shouldn't be upset that the Eagles traded up right before us to get the TE that everyone thought we coveted but didn't really.

that Deforest Buckner guy might be pretty good /s
if it was a scrub i would worry but it was a tough assignment
next to him you had Solomon Thomas another elite player
there will be bumps in the road

1 on 1's as well. That's why I'm worried

He had a few plays he was beaten up bad. He steadied. I think it would help if they changed his jersey number. Kept thinking it was a LB playing OG.

a year in an nfl weight room is going to do wonders for him and Vander Esch
they both lack upper body strength
they could always bounce him out to RT next year instead of paying LaEl
guard will be easier to replace
either way he needs more power to deal with freaks like Damon Harrison and Fletcher Cox

I am sure they are practicing him at RT. Williams should be ok. He will be getting help from center. I think it when he is on his own he will struggle.

well im not upset lol
i just dont have unrealistic expectations for him. (not that you do btw) when you look at him, he has almost a tightend upper body but huge legs. he has to use what he has and be better technically until he gets stronger

he could be a great RT and play there for 10 years, most guards are barrel chested you know
the guy is talented, i do expect more welcome to the nfl moments though
he can really move though, pulling he is a weapon

I couldn't disagree with you more. I watched him and against much bigger defensive linemen, I was impressed that he did not give up ground and was not blown into Dak's lap. Strength will increase over time, but it was not an issue last night. The sack was a consequence of a some twisting defensive linemen and the kid dropping his head on the play. There was no more of that for the rest of the time he was in there. He played huge.
