Connor Cook Trophy "Snub"

Anybody see this last night? I've seen a number of trophy presentations after big games and have never seen something like that before. It could be nothing, but it just caught my attention and now today it's big news and he's apologizing. I know someone on here had posted about Cook having some locker room issues and that there was some reasons he wasn't a team captain even though he is a senior and starting QB and someone else defended Cook like he was his own child.

I don't have any info either way, I just found the transaction weird. And if you combine that with the alleged other rumblings about his behavior, is this a guy you even want on your team? It's a very real possibility that we may just miss out on Goff and Lynch and be left with Cook and Wentz to pick from before the QB talent starts to fall off.

Also, Admins I'm not sure if this is the proper forum to post this in, but if it isn't I'm sorry. Cook is a draftable QB so I figured I'd post it here.

I want no part of him, but is it really hard to imagine him not knowing who it was giving him the trophy? I didn't know by looking. I'm not going to bash him for this one.

Now his play deserves bashing. Another game with a horrible completion %, under 200 yards and his team looked anemic on offense for most of the day. There were other players more deserving of that trophy yesterday.

Lot of red flags with Cook.

He is a pocket passer who throws at less than a 60% clip rate.

He'll get drafted higher than he should because Michigan State is one of the few big time programs to run the traditional pro-style offense that NFL clubs prefer their QBs to come from.

He'll join a long list of current mediocre MSU quarterbacks in the NFL including:

Kirk Cousins
Drew Stanton
Brian Hoyer

The biggest red flag to me is that he's a senior starting QB and not the team captain.
