Dak HaS hAd AlL PrO oLIne EvEry sNaP!!!

Dak Haters are merciless :lmao2: :lmao2:

1. What he stated had nothing to do with the offensive line play. It was for coaching technique. The line still could of played very well with Philbin not getting into the fine tuning.
2. Biadasz and Steele saw improvement the last two years. Coincidence, a mix of both, or they improved under Philbins coaching? Don't know, but it's not like the line regressed over the few years. Cowboys have let guys like Williams, Collins and McGovern walk/cut over the years and their replacements did well. Smith did an admirable job being thrown into the fire at LT his rookie year.
3. Players like Tyron Smith and Martin are HOF vets and I doubt any coach really needs to fine tune those guys. Last guy who tried to do that got fired halfway during the season, in Paul Alexander.
4. For all the hype McGovern is giving Kromer, the Bills struggled last year under Kromer's first year and guys like Spencer Brown just had a down year the entire year.

Why did Tyler Smith flourish at T and G as a rookie being moved around constantly if the coaching sucks?

I don't buy it. I probably would have chin checked McGovern if he said that to me.
Lol@"chin checked"

Nice old school reference. I approve.

Interesting take, but nobody should be surprised. Almost always, every player that’s signed with a new team, traded, or cut, makes allusions that their new team is a better fit for them.

They sure score a lot and play good offense with such a bad o line. The line looks much improved. Word is he maybe out up to a month with a grade 1 mcl sprain. They have a good group on the interior if morse holds up.
Because in the regular season you can get away with a bad line. It rears its ugly head when the playoffs come around.

its not. Sounds like 4 weeks max, so probably a game or two
Who are your sources? An article posted 4 hours ago said they still did not know the extent of his injury and the HC McDermott said he wasn't sure when McGovern would be back. I can't find any articles saying that he will only be out 4 weeks max. All articles are saying the same thing, it is not known how long he will be out.

Not unusual for a player to leave and have a different take on things.

I think the OL has been decent for a long time.

Different philosophies. Different coach. Different team.

Wish we would have kept this kid on the team though.
True that it’s always different……but why does it always have to be more rigorous than it was here?

Commenting on differences in coaching styles is not an evaluation of the quality of coaching. Every coach does some things a little difference. Someone asked McGovern what the differences were. He answered the question. I don't interpret that as him knocking the Dallas Cowboys coaches. He's just commenting on how his new coach emphasizes different things. Whether or not that suits his talent better remains to be seen.

we have been pretty good in developing tackles, like Collins, although after his injury he just wasn't as good or Steele and whomever rotates in the LT spot, but we haven't done as much on the interior and guards. Martin was consensus top guard and went top half of draft, smith is a first rounder, but can't recall the last time we had a mid to lower round interior lineman we developed.

Tyler Smith flourished at both Tackle and Guard based on pure athletic ability. McGovern was always limited. The problem in recent years was that old clown (Philbin) who had no clue how to improve the Oline. It was so bad, he was playing musical chairs with the whole Oline group. This is why McGovern is talking now that he's in Buffalo. Some people simply can't handle the truth. A few of us told y'all one of the biggest problems in Dallas was Joe Philbin and how this Oline was average at best, but nooooo, it was simply easier and lazy to blame everything on Dak.

In general my view of these things is just go out and play and let's see if there is a difference. Players say a lot of things for a lot of different reasons. I take it all with a grain of salt. If McGovern makes all-pro this year then my ears may perk up a little. If he is the same old Connor McGovern then whatever chatter came from him is just white noise for the benefit of the beat writers.

The whole reason the Bills signed him in free agency is that their Oline has been bad.
I was gonna say that too. Although I think they got hit with a couple of key injuries last year on their oline.

Hm Williams was laughed at by many here. Went on to become an instant probowl center, a position he never played in Dallas.

McGovern may follow suite, at least he is letting it be known he's finally being taught some fundamental details of the position. Growth incoming for this guy.

I was one of the few staunch Connor Williams supporters around here but who needed to be moved to Center. Many bashed me, especially @CowboyRoy. Connor Williams got let go. Went to Miami. Miami's much smarter Oline coach saw what I saw, trained Connor Williams at Center during training camp 2022, and everyone saw Connor Williams finish 2022 as a Top 3 Center by season's end.
