Connor Williams is not a starter

Seems like other teams could get a bum off the street to play LG.

The Connor Williams Experience has to end. He doesn't have it. Right now, his play would be barely serviceable for a late round pick or undrafted guy. And that's being nice. But he was a 2nd rounder...you hope to get someone with All Pro potential when you draft OL that high. Yes, he has matched up against tough DTs in Aaron Donald, Grady Jarrett, and Jarran Reed. But as a 2nd rounder in your 3rd year of starting, it should be expected for you to be good enough to hold your own in those situations and not be a liability. He needs to be held to a higher standard than the undrafted backups we have filling in at LT/RT.

Serviceable is ok for Knight and Steele. Not for Williams

There's no doubt that the game-ending sack on Dak was the result of Connor Williams' cluelessness.

Overall, the offensive line is a mess, but Williams is a big part of the problems. He's not a left guard.
Wrong.

LT Knight did the 1 thing that he just can't do in that situation which was get beaten to the inside.

They had Zeke on the outside to help Knight which meant that Knight could error to the side of getting beaten to the outside.

It's time for this organization to recognize this. He's been a liability at any spot they've tried him in. I don't know where you go because Connor McGovern can't get on the field for some reason. He must not be very good and that's a 3rd round pick wasted.
Wrong.

I think Connor Williams has actually regressed from last year. At least last year he seemed to have a clue of who to block and when. This year he seems lost, like much of the defense. I think it's Looney at C instead of Frederick. Travis was such a smart guy. That is hard to replace. So much of being an offensive lineman is position and leverage. Williams never had the strength to play inside, but he had good feet coming out of college and he is not such a big dope that he cannot understand his responsibilities.

Regardless, he is not the guy they need at LG. I don't think there is anything they can do about it this year, but going into next year they need to try something else. Maybe move Knight or Steel inside. I guess we all thought McGovern would push Williams out of his starting role but that hasn't happened. I wonder what McGovern's deal is.

********. Williams blocked NO ONE. And never looked to his left until it was too late.

Inexcusable. But give it your best shot.
