This was done at a Football site (myself included) where picks we done by the group, heavy emphasis was given to homers for their respective teams.

Here is the mock (I thought it was apretty good mock-only 2-3 picks I disagreed with passionately):

1. Houston Texans: Reggie Bush, RB USC
2. New Orleans Saints: Matt Leinart, QB, USC
3. Tennessee Titans: Vince Young, QB, Texas
4. New York Jets: D'Brickashaw Ferguson, OT, Virginia
5. Green Bay Packers: Mario Williams, DE, N.C. State
6. San Francisco 49ers: Vernon Davis, TE, Maryland
7. Oakland Raiders: A.J. Hawk, LB, Ohio St.
8. Buffalo Bills: Haloti Ngata, DT, Oregon
9. Detroit Lions: Winston Justice, OT, USC
10. Arizona Cardinals: LenDale White, RB, USC
11. St. Louis Rams: Michael Huff, S/CB, Texas
12. Cleveland Browns: Broderick Bunkley, DT, Florida State
13. Baltimore Ravens: Jimmy Williams, CB/S, Virginia Tech
14. Philadelphia Eagles: Tamba Hali, DE, Penn St.
15. Atlanta Falcons: DeAngelo Williams, RB, Memphis
16. Miami Dolphins: Jay Cutler, QB, Vanderbilt
17. Minnesota Vikings: Chad Greenway, LB, Iowa
18. Dallas Cowboys: Manny Lawson, LB/DE, N.C. State
19. San Diego Chargers: Chad Jackson, WR, Florida
20. Kansas City Chiefs: Tye Hill, CB, Clemson
21. New England Patriots: Kamerion Wimbley, LB/DE, Florida State
22. Denver Broncos: Lawrence Maroney, RB, Minnesota
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Marcus McNeill, OT, Auburn
24. Cincinnati Bengals: Gabe Watson, DT, Michigan
25. New York Giants: DeMeco Ryans, LB, Alabama.
26. Chicago Bears: Leonard Pope, TE, Georgia
27. Carolina Panthers: Eric Winston, OT, Miami
28. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ashton Youboty, CB, Ohio St.
29. Denver Broncos: Mathias Kiwanuka, DE/LB, Boston College
30. Indianapolis Colts: Jonathan Scott, OT, Texas
31. Seattle Seahawks: Santonio Holmes, WR, Ohio St.
32. Pittsburgh Steelers: Nick Mangold, C, Ohio St.

For the record, I like Lawson alot. However my pick was Bobby Carpenter. I got over ruled there were 4-5 Cowboys guys giving input. In the next post, I'll share my post for Carpenter.

Thoughts on the mock????

As a Cowboy fan here is my take:

If the actual draft went like this, I could definitely see Dallas trying to trade down.
If there were no takers for a trade the 2 choices are pretty clear.

Marcus McNeil-Auburn
Fills a hole on our terrible O-line, prolly at RT. Gives Dallas nice bookends in Flo and Marcus. He has rare size which doesn't come around very often. I have seen mixed reviews on him, I know we have been sniffing around.

Bobby Carpenter- Ohio State
Could play either ILB or OLB. Nice size for a Parcells LB. We are very thin at this position with the Retirement of Dat. The ankle injury to Carpenter has cost him a few spots in the draft. I believe he is the run stopping LB this team desparately needs. Some think he's a reach, I would be very excited to get this kid.

For those who suggest Ko Simpson there are plenty of FA Safeties available. I could see Dallas picking up either Chavous or Hope if Pittsburgh can't re-sign (Sorry EG).

Those thinking WR-Parcells will not take a WR although his draft record may appear differently. None of the top Wr's are difference makers. (For the record I have them ranked Jackson/Holmes/Moss) Parcells is in win now mode. Rookie WR's rarely make an impact.

One other player being hyped in Dallas is Manny Lawson. I love him but not at this spot. He is a later first round pick and could be the target if Dallas trades down.

Cowboys take Bobby Carpenter
