Scouts Inc., ESPN: 4th rated CB, 37th player overall, 2nd round projection.

His elite athleticism was on display at the combine with his ridiculous broad and vertical jump results. His anticipation and recognition skills are just average, but his size, fluidity and range make up for it. There are a lot of tools to work with here. He could play either corner or free safety at the next level.

-

Frank Coyle, Draft Insiders Digest: 3rd rated CB, 29th player overall, 1st-2nd round projection.

One of the most intriguing prospects I have ever scouted. Rare versatility to rank among the top 3 corners and top 2 safeties in this class. Interesting top 30 prospect with fine overall talent and Pro Bowl potential. Figures in the late 1st/early 2nd round with huge upside as a pro. Fast developing corner with rookie starting grade at both corner in a zone scheme or free safety for any defense. Terrific athlete with his best football ahead of him. Blue chip athlete.

-

Nolan Nawrocki: 7th rated CB, 41st player overall, 2nd round projection.

An exceptionally sized, explosive bump-and-run corner with the length, speed and agility to match up with big receivers in zone or man coverage. Has the intelligence and experience to line up at free safety, and versatility is a plus.

-

Dane Brugler, NFL Draft Scout: 4th rated CB, 22nd player overall, 1st-2nd round projection.

Jones plays with some hip and upper body tightness and inconsistent technique, but his fluid lower body helps mask mechanical flaws. Unpolished in areas and need to be more efficient with his length but his combinations of size, smarts and God-given athleticism is what NFL teams seek at the position, along with mature and motivated character. Projects best as a press corner with a mid to late 1st round grade.

They kept mentioning about safety and that he played it for two years in the presser...I think they may have plans to try him @ CB and FS to see what sticks...gives more options to the secondary...so, if OScan, Carr AND Mo pan out, then you can still get the rook in the game @ FS at times...

...I like the pick, and the team LOVED it by watching the war room...I was thinking a different direction like McKinney or OO, but I am pleased...I had Jones on my short list when we the team's picks was approaching

- if they don't further address the pass rush, then it won't matter who is playing corner...Hardy will hopefully make a difference when he plays, but there are no guarantees he will be a cowboy in 2016

Can people stop mentioning this as if it means something? The team loves every pick. I can show you video of a war room with the same GM and VP of Personnel high fiving each other after selecting Kavika Pittman. It means nothing. Less than nothing.

More importantly is they felt they got a player with a first round grade. Jerry mentioned in the press conference that he was in the top 15-16 on their board. Now they just need to be right about that evaluation.

Fish just tweeted they were happy because they had been looking forward to getting drunk and watch having a Workaholics marathon after the first round was done

And that was your first player listed in the pick the class thread as the defending champ.

Impressive.

Maybe you really are Spaulding.

Lol, I remember how stoked they were when they traded up to grab Shante Carver.

No, but if there is any lineage to this Jones family, I will seriously downgrade the player. Like to walk on, semi-pro.

We are 0-5 on our last Joneses. Julius, Felix, Adam, Edger, and Chris. Ok so the last two dont exactly count but they both still suck/sucked

That was dumb luck. I ended up scratching Kevin Johnson off my final list because I felt he would likely be taken well before 27.

Of all the CBs, Jones is the one I actually like. Happy with the pick. Lots of DL talent in 2
