Was the offense conservative for a reason today? They looked like they were playing a pre-season game. Nothing fancy, expect TO in the backfield taking a fake. Thoughts? I think we have something special planned for GB.

We were dominating them the entire game ..... so we went conservative ..... thats why we looked flat to the untrained eye.

No, we took a lot of shots down field early. And Tony was missing them bad.

Then we got up big and there was little reason to force the ball. We were able to pick our spots and we did (e.g., TO touchdown).

It was like a preliminary "how's your father" before a big date. Just a warm up so that you don't embarass yourself when the big dance comes.

Maybe we were trying to take advantage of a tired undersized defensive line by running it.

This is what the Buffalo game would have looked like without the interceptions.

I didn't think they were that conservative. I was actually hoping for more running in the 1st 3 quarters, especially in the 1st half. I thought this would have been a good game to go out there and just bleed the clock from start to finish, giving the defense a nice light day. Didn't happen though.

Short week to practise and playing the Jets. Go with what you know and don't use a bigger gun than you need to shoot with.

I think not having Crayton in there was bigger factor than most people believe. Austin had 2 nice grabs and Hurd caught maybe 1 pass, but Romo seemed a little uncomfortable at times. We need all of our weapons next week.

It was a perfect game calling for the short week, weather getting bad with a big lead in place situation. As Simms was saying, why take a chance when the defense was B-slapping the Jets silly.

probably because the game was over early, romo banged his pinky in the first quarter and the jets were taking all the deep plays away.

If Simms had put it that way, I would've been rotflmao.:lmao:

idk, its hard to be real conservative and score 27

lets not forget romo had 2 TDs where he misfired (to pick, witten)...i thought the playcalling was great.

the only problem i had was bringing in MBIII so early after that first drive. julius looked great, then hardly saw the field again in the first half it seemed

Garrett seemed more conservative the few games leading up to the stretch of divisional games and then he unloaded a whole crap load of new looks that caught the Eagles/Giants/Skins off guard.

It seems like Garrett holds back on his playcalling if we've got the game well in-hand and we've got a tough game (or several tough games) coming up. Kind of like he'll lull the upcoming opponent into looking at what we did the previous week and then unload some all new looks at them when we get on the field.

It was VERY apparent against the Eagles that we unleashed a lot of new stuff that we hadn't been doing previously.

I read on ESPN that Romo was playing with an injured pinky finger. That could be it. He also missed on two post patterns (one to T.O. and one to Hurd) that could have resulted in touchdowns.

Either way, this team dominated today, not too much of a reason to open up the playbook and give the Pack more film to study.

Difficult to be exotic and aggressive when you have:

1. Bad Weather causing bad footing and gripping of the football.

2. An opposing defense that is horrible against the run.

3. An opposing defense that is drop 8 back in coverage and quite often.

Garrett ran the ball quite a bit, but I actually would've preferred to see him run the ball more just to get the Jets out of their defensive scheme earlier.

YAKUZA

That guy Revis is pretty good. He really covered TO all night. That said. We beat them 34-3 and it should have been 60-3.

didnt look that conservative to me...we tried some stuff downfield like we always do, it just didnt work today...Romo was not "on" like has been

he usually hits those throws like he missed Owens, Witten and Hurd on in his sleep...if he had hit them today we'd have had another 18 pts...

and naturally after you are up by 3 tds or so in the 2nd half, you are going to wun the ball more (that is, unless you are the Pats, then you open up the playbook even more)
