I would seriously consider drafting a top offensive tackle. I would move Collins inside and back to guard. This would give the Cowboys three interchangeable tackles and all available for game day.

The offensive line would be back up to pedigree status as well. I would even consider putting a trade to get the top offensive tackle.

Pretty sure Collins at OT was a term for him coming here. Expect another development project at OT around the fourth round.

Oh, there are a bunch of experienced interior guards in this draft.

One still plays the best five linemen from the start....and if that covers the swing positions as well, so be it.

A dominant offensive and defensive line are my hope. Depth would then be a positive feature as well. Both sides of the ball.

I am all for making our lines (offensively and defensively) better. This is where the draft should be focused. Sadly there is already so much money in our offensive line and while we still worry about our LT and swing tackle position (backup), we are spending an outrageous amount in our offensive line. After signing Martin long term we are really pushing it. We need to find a happy medium or our defense will truly decline if 70% of our money is in the offense. Trust me I want a quality swing tackle that could also challenge Collins at RT. I just hope to find it in the 3rd round. Obviously he will not challenge Smith for the LT position, but would be a strong RT and allow competition between himself and Collins at not only the RT position, but also push competition between themselves as the backup for LT if Smith is still dealing with his back.

The first two rounds gives a player some home town discounts for his first four to five seasons...that provides ample opportunity for replacement planning as well.

CCBoy, what is the opinion of the depth and quality at Oline in this draft?

From tackle to guard, a lot of experience and talent...both positions. Texas and Notre Dame have tackles and Notre Dame an interior lineman presently being watched on film.

Possibly four to five tackles that are draftable in the first round...

Thanks this is my concern. Fix the offensive line and that fixes the offense IMHO

Giving Dak another half second to a full second would really help him. That is the real difference from his rookie season to his second. Well that and no one had NFL game film on him his rookie season. Having Zeke will also make things different. The LBs will have to hesitate since we play the ROP scheme. I truly think our team will work much more on Zeke's pass options to really slow the defense on their blitzes next year. If Zeke can come in, in shape, it is a great possibility. Less injuries or a better OL will play a big part as well.

The real problem with this is do we add more protection, more offensive weapons to help Dak succeeded? Or do we scheme better to help Dak prosper? I truly thing we can make due with better game planning and play calling. Even Dooley called out the scheme for the WR's.

I like Williams from Texas.

Me too, he fits our scheme better. But lets be honest here, neither Williams or McGlinchey will be there for our pick. Not to be a debbie downer, but I don't think Brown will be there either. One thing is for sure the OG Nelson will surely be gone by then. Like I said the Blue chippers will be gone. While I think Brown is the 3rd LT taken, the drop off is so huge from 3rd to 4th, might as well wait for 2nd or 3rd round.

With the luck of 2nd rounders by the Cowboys...use next year's 2nd and a 5th this year, and get one of the two...moving up in 1.

While I hate to even think of us doing such, you have a point.... LOL

Touché Sir

Thank you... Look forward to really debating our beliefs in the future. Like I said In another thread and as well in my 1st post, I really do watch collage games and the Cowboys more than anything. Eventually I will add more to the Draft Section than most, though the Drinking Tavern of Ranching's has been more my home as of late... LOL
