Fleming’s contract looks more like a guy that’ll have to earn his roster spot than a guy promised a starting position.

I would expect Collins to open up training camp as the starting RT and only moved to guard if the the starting guard stinks or Fleming exceeds expectations. Collins was an above average starter late last season and will only get better...I doubt the team wants to risk RT being a liability.

I don't know if we know anything about what they view these lineman as until after the draft.

What is apparent is we will not feel forced to go in any direction come draft day.

no it means most whi said he was brought in for a swing tackle back up role VS a replacement for Collins and moving Collins back to LG..all those contracts give us flexibility in how we use them or if they don't work out it doesn't cost us much.. id say that they all were solid signings..Very team friendly deals.. like Cooper last year we will see if any earn a long term reup after this season..Im betting Looney and Martin will battle to TRY and se if one can fill the LG spot but if they don't and the draft fails theres longshot Collins moves back to LG and Fleming starts at RT..

Fleming is being paid as a swing OT. Looney and Martin are being paid as backup depth that might not make the team. OG remains a real possibility in round 1 or 2.

Here's what RoboCoach had to say about Fleming...

"We liked him coming out of school and they drafted him in the fourth round. He was a rotational tackle for them," coach Jason Garrett said. "He was a backup swing guy, didn't play that much, played a little bit of guard, but then the last half of this year he played a lot of snaps and when you put the tape on we thought he played very well. He blocked well in the passing game, good run-blocker, plays the right way, has a physicalness to him. He's a smart guy and you've seen him play on right side. You've seen him play on the left side. We just felt like he did a good job taking advantage of his opportunities, and again you want to bring a guy like that in, create some comp and see where it goes."

May be getting O-Lineman early pick in draft.

I figured Fleming would get more than that. Starter in the SB.

Looney about right. Nice little payday for him.

Martin seems like that was on his way out of the league and caught a break and took it contract and may not be on the team by start of season unless he proves himself. I am gonna root him.

Wow, those are some nice, team-friendly deals. Financially, I don't think yiu can question them. Now let's see what the players can do on the field.

Martin's deal is particularly notable. He's playing for an opportunity. A chance to turn his career around. He's getting paid $1 million less than what he made not playing a snap last year for Cleveland. They can cut him without blinking if it doesn't work out.

And Fleming's deal looks like one for a swing tackle backup, not any guy that's going to force La'el Collins to move.

Overall, nice work Cowboys. The finances look very favorable.

some of you guys crack me up...just bc fleming didnt get a lot of money you are now saying that ol is a bigger draft priority....seriously there is just no pleasing some of you.

We got 3 guys, 1 that could potentially start, at a great price...doesn't change our draft strategy bc of the price we paid

Who said that?

Tilting at windmills Don Quixote.

Still don’t see us going high on OL in the draft. We need two linebackers out of this draft.
