That kind of thing shouldn't happen. I don't think it really impacted the outcome of the game, but running the clock should not be that difficult.

I am sure Pittsburgh is more concerned with the points they left on the field. They made a long field goal that was called back on penalty and then missed the FG. Randel El inexpicably tried to lateral the ball to Hines Ward after a huge gain deep into Pats territory that resulted in the Pats recovering.

Cough...tuck rule...Cough

In all my years of watching football, that's the first time I had ever heard of it or seen it called.

I've seen these clock mistakes many times. This issue is not new. Last week, I complained in a thread about the clock in the Washington-Dallas game. About how it was stopped on a defensive penalty, when it never should have been. Now I'm beginning to wonder about this...

I have noticed in my many years of watching football that the Steelers have never REALLY lost a game. I know several Steeler fans and they have tried to convince me time and again that A) the league and the refs are out to get them (despite the fact that they are consistently given breaks and are one of the least penalized teams), B) they are always the most talented team and some fluke prevents them from winning every game that they lose, C) and lastly, when in doubt, they blame their coach. Pretty much, they can never face the fact that they are sometimes going to be outplayed and beaten.

I had heard of the tuck rule before that NE-Oak playoff game. I remember watching the game and after the very first replay knew that would be the ruling. It wasn't made up on the spot or anything. :D I think it is a dumb rule or rather a pointless rule. I can't figure out what they were trying to do by writing that rule up.

I blame their coach. I think he is a good coach, but at the same time he is over rated or at least over hyped. The media treats him as if he has won multiple Superbowls.

But he's had the longest tenure in the league.

I'm so tired of hearing that. Wayne Fontes had a long tenure also.

The excuse doesn't matter the Steelers lost that game. They had chance after chance to put them away and just like Dallas vs Skins the opposing team took advantage.

Just imagine if the Boys would've beaten them last season. Remember that last trick play where Terry Glenn flew outta bounds as time expired, yet the refs put 1 second back up there. Would've been great if the Boys converted.

I have to admit........you caught me. My friends say the same things about me......that I always have excuses about why my Cowboys lost the game.

Therefore, we have NEVER lost a game in my mind........GO COWBOYS!

He consistently fields a winning team despite the fact the he works for one of the cheapest owners in the league. Im tired of hearing how bad he is as a coach when all he does is win.

I don't think anyone said he was a bad coach. Just over hyped.
