Mine's a Gin and Titanic

SNN1527ICE-682_948353a.jpg

THESE ice cubes shaped like the Titanic and icebergs have been branded "sick" - because they urge drinkers to recreate the 1912 sea disaster which killed 1,522 people.

A cube-making kit called Gin and Titanic jokes: "Sink another round!"

Historian Brian Ticehurst said: "They are distasteful.

"How long will it be before they make ice cubes of the Twin Towers?"

US maker Fred and Friends called its cubes "functional and fun."

It said: "Somebody is always offended by something."

Like they say: tragedy + time = comedy.

Good grief, the Titanic sunk 100 years ago, move on....

I want to chew on that piece of ice. :laugh2:

Don't you dare.

Contracting your jaw muscles a certain way on frozen water will directly affect the rest of the world. Who gave you the right to chew? I didn't, so you can't do that.

If there are any Titanic survivors left and they object then it should be pulled.

The last one died a few months ago. Maybe they were waiting for her to kick off before marketing this.

I'm Chuck Norris. You have no say here.

It hasn't been 100 years yet, but I don't don't think "time" has anything to do with it. Pretty sure we won't be seeing Holocaust-themed ice cubes 30 years from now. "Good taste" doesn't have an expiration date.

Nah, getting upset about an ice cube is pretty lame and VERY drama queen / attention *****.

I'm not offended by the cubes. Just playing devil's advocate.

As an aside, don't chew ice!

I had done so for years until I found out that I popped out a filling because the ice that I was chewing caused it to get really cold and break!

:(

I'd find it offensive if little ice people were jumping out of it and ruining my cocktail. :D

With my weird sense of humor I'd be cracking up if that were part of it. :laugh2:

Maybe there aren't Ice Cubes of the Holocaust, but there are plenty of other joke/mockery type merchandise available. Yes, its' in bad taste, but if people find it amusing, who the hell am I to condemn them.

As far as Titantic survivors objecting? Why? People should *Not* have the right to "not be offended".

I'm not saying these are awesome, or they aren't in "bad taste". But come on people, please remove the sticks from your holy *****. Sometimes things happen that are offensive to you, ignore it and move on.
