Conway on Austin

Curtis Conway, prior to the KC game, said to watch out for Miles Austin and predicted before the game that he would have a career day....now, at that point, what was Miles best day? So it wouldn't have been too difficult to have a "career" day.

However, all during the game he kept saying this and kept saying that he has seen things in him that if he went to a major college that he would have already been a starter in the NFL. However, with how most coaches think....that "minor" school players just aren't as good as "major" school players, that these guys just don't get many chances...he disagrees with this premise and had examples of players who, when given the CHANCE to show what they can do, were successful.

Here's to hoping MA has a good day. :beer2:

Just catch the ball when it's thrown to you and you'll be fine.....

That... and the fact that the Chiefs secondary was horrible in tackling

Oh, very true.

But 250 yard receiving days don't happen very often....even against terrible secondaries.

In other words, you can't necessarily discount his performance just because it was against a bad team.

I agree....plus, we never should have been in OT had he caught those balls in the endzone...however, that's not the point....the other things that he was saying about him was....he believed that he should have been a starter before this.

Keep in mind that he was saying this stuff prior to the KC game.

A lot of that had to do with Miles breaking the tackle. Easily just as much as it being a missed tackle. It has to be a little bit of both.

It's a Zen thing.

Also keep in mind that we had Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens when Austin arrived.

Last year, he may have pushed for a starting job had he not kept getting injured.

Sometimes it just takes coaching staffs a while to trust a player.

Well, Miles Austin is on the field now and I hope he can continue making plays and help take the offense to another level.

Agreed...but it takes some coaching staffs even longer to realize it.

Part of me believes that this team is run by salary.

Barber for instance....I like Barber, but I don't think he is the #1 RB on this team....but he'll keep getting starts unless he's injured. He was at his best as a third down back and late game back. He is what he is, IMO....a third down back. Nothing wrong with that.

Marion Barber is fine when healthy.

He's still averaging over 5 yards per carry after playing the last two games injured.

But the coaching staff should have enough confidence in Tashard Choice to have let him start those game and just use MB3 in small doses.

It's ridiculous to "feature" an injured back when you know what the back-up can do.

Looks like Conway was right....quit judging a guy based on the college that he went to!
