I notice that most of those winners come from Canada, Russia, Ohio and other cold places. I guess when it's too damn cold to jump in the water, ya find other things to enterain yourself.

...went to design school with one of the members from the SandBaggers team from Victoria B.C.

I think they do most of their competition in the summertime so they are using up the nice warm weather for this activity. Alot of them hone their skills in the winter on ice and snow sculptures.
