Romo finished the season leading the NFC in passing yards, Austin finished the year leading the NFC in receiving yards and Witten finished with an NFC-high in catches and yards for tight ends. Not bad.

Definitely a good decision last offseason to upgrade the position.
It's time to start recognizing that this team does know what they are doing.

Another cool stat is that on the Chuffly awesomeness scale, Romo, Witten, and Austin all scored 10 out of 10.

It's been that kind of season, folks.

I'd say the emergence of an undrafted 4th year WR into a Pro Bowler more than makes up for Roy's shortcomings with the Cowboys. So if you're going to slam the front office for the Roy trade, you'd better be willing to pucker up and give them a ton of credit for Miles Austin.

There isn't a team in the league that is successful with every major decision they make. We wish we didn't trade for Roy, New England wishes they didn't sign Adalius Thomas, Philly wishes they didn't sign Jason Peters, the Giants wish they didn't give Brandon Jacobs his contract extension, Washington wishes Jason Campbell was never born, etc.

If there was a team that made all the right moves every single time, they'd never lose a game. Dallas has won 33 games and lost only 16 since '07... I'm quite sure that means we've made some pretty good decisions over the last few years.

This is awesome! I know stats don't matter in terms of wins, however, as a Cowboys fan over the past 12-15 years I've learned to (secretly) enjoy this kind of thing immensely.

Here in Wisconsin the Packer fans are touting their own stats:

Rogers: 4000 Yards Passing, 30 TDs, 7 Ints, 5 TD Rushing
Jennings & Driver: Over 1000 Yards Each
GB Tight Ends: Over 1000 Yards Receiving
Ryan Grant: Over 1200 Yards Rushing
#1 Rush Defense

Evidently GB is the first team in NFL history that has gone two seasons in a row with a 4000 yard passer, two 1000+ yard recievers, and a 1200 yard rusher.

GB is playing well, but their defense hasn't pitched back to back shut outs. I hate that the Cowboys gave them momentum when they had a chance to bury them psychologically, but I like our chances in a rematch with Green Bay. I like our chances against anyone.

I'm not saying we haven't, but if your gonna post the good moves they made, post the bad ones too. Too many times posters like posting just the bad, or just the good. If you're gonna call out the people who thought a move that turned out good was bad, then call out the ones who thought a move that turned out bad was good. Eating crow goes both ways.

WHile we've made some good moves the last few years, we've made some bad ones that have kept us from winning in the playoffs (tank, Pacman, To, Bledsoe, VInny Testerverde, etc...) They made some sound descions this year (Miles Austin, WAde PHilips, Mike Jenksins, Anthony Spencer, etc) and maybe it will pay off in the a playoff victory and a superbowl victory.

2nd in the NFL in total offense is our highest ranking since the Staubach era.

The FO has made many good decisions but they also have to be willing to admit their mistakes and move on for the betterment of the team. I think releasing RW earlier rather than later is probably one such area. I understand he is guaranteed another $9M for next season. However, if he doesn't look like a much better player by next preseason we should just release him. I would suggest we see if we can find any suckers who want to take a chance on resurrecting him if we take over paying the remaining guaranteed part of the contract. These are the sort of deals you might be able to make in the uncapped year to rid yourselves of some bad contracts if you are serious about winning.

As the saying goes, Jerry's probably forgotten more about football than any poster here knows.
