I woke up this morning (Valentine's Day) and found this waiting for me in the living room. My wife knew I wanted one, but didn't want to spend the money... so she surprised me with it today. Too cool.

So you did spend the money. This is one reason I'd rather my wife not get me anything during Christmas/Birthdays etc. If there is something I want and I think it's worth the money then I'll usually go ahead and get it. But there are things I'd like, but am not willing to pay what it costs to get it. Then when I get these things for gifts it's nice to have them, but we've also spent the money that I didn't want to spend in the first place.

I have no qualms about getting these gifts from other people though. That doesn't come out of my pocket book.
