Call me cynical but having a hard time believing its a "bruise" based on the endless list of medical related lies we hear about players.

Ugh, received a deep thigh bruise during a game while playing in college. I was pretty much useless the next game and still had lingering effects the following game as well. Can confirm that those types of bruises can be quite painful.

Thigh bruises are horrible. I haven't noticed but does he wear his thigh pads. I know some players modify or wear none.

And hockey players are more padded up. You always here hockey players with lower body injuries, they just don't disclose them.
