Guessing you would have to move up around 15 spots to have a realistic shot. What would the value need to be?

Agreed.

Let the draft come to you and react to whatever talent drops due to other teams pushing for needs early in round 2.

Ravens 101.
The only time you trade up is when you are in love with a particular player that you have to have.

If they could get a deal like last night sign me up.
Think the stars aligned perfect there - Detroit is aggressive and wanted to make a move in front of their home crowd. Their war room was really pumped for that pick (don't blame them at all - great pick) but given their want and how it was going to fall right behind Dallas, they pulled the trigger.

Nobody had that corner falling to 24. It was so lucky for us that the Lions didn't have a 4th round pick.

Detroit’s secondary was horrendous last year. They made the right move.
