I admit I haven't followed him a ton this year and last. However when he had Crabtree opposite him, Crabtree was the go to for those dirty over the middle yards and Cooper was a big play threat. Seemed like there were many games where if the big play wasnt there for Cooper, he was absent.

Coming out of Bama, Cooper's skill set was that of a WR that work any down and distance situation. He was a big bodied physical WR who ran clean routes, that can be a go to across the middle on 3rd and short. And he had the speed to take the top off a defense.

He had the skill set of a legit 'chise WR coming out of Bama. What im afraid of is that Jones thinks just traded for that Bama stud, instead the pretty good but not great Oakland WR. Copper really needs to expand his pro game to somewhat match some of what he was supposed to do in the pro's to make this not an utterly wasteful trade

Ill add that this will be much more difficult in Dallas with Dak than in Oakland with Carr

That is the real problem... What made someone trade for a receiver coming from a more pass heavy offense then we are... with his production, and then bring him here.

Dez was better last year then Amari.

To play devils advocate, maybe Cooper is what this offense needs?

A legit, 4.3, #1 receiver. They can no longer double down on Beasley and hopefully not stack the box on Zeke
Cooper should have an effect. However to marry up the cost paid, his game needs to expand to where it should have been coming out.

I only hate this trade if we don't find a way to get back into the first - I believe we could, but we probably just blew our chance of getting our next franchise QB though. Stuff like this can put you in a hole for years.

He’s a nice high end #2. But if Gallup can also develop into a high end #2 that’s solid enough. IE the Vikings WR corps.

2020 could be a better QB year anyways

We are just now married to Dak for the rest of his rookie deal.

Although to you point, if there is a Lamar Jackson we like that move can still be made IMO

I think Drew Lock may be there in the late first or early second, seems scouts are a little "meh" on him now since he went up against two big schools and didn't play hot.

Getting someone like him with a big arm in that range doesn't happen too often.

Remember when the Cowboys didn't need a number one, lead dawg wideout? Such good times those were.

Yep... Remember how we were slinging that ball like Linehan said. We were just putting it all over the field. Now they want to go get a #1 that will cry he wants the ball. Dak will get stressed out....

All sarcasm... But yeah,.....This franchise is a joke.

I like Lock alot. Especially if we can sit him and develop him. There is talk Herbert may stay (dont see it though), if that happens it could drive Locks stock some. Right now I think he is fighting for that #3 spot behind Herbert and Grier.

Grier could fall too if scouts dont like awnsers to PED questions

That’s what Stephen and Jerry do best.

Know we have a problem, do not address problem, insist there is no problem, panic and overpay to fix said problem

That’s about spot on. It’s ridiculous they were even at this point. Talent evaluation and roster management at its finest.

I’m sure that’s the thinking and I could buy into that logic if I was convinced we had the other part of the passing game needed to make that work
