Cooper Rush appreciation thread

Kudos to the man. He really didn't seemed rattled or anything like that.

It's a team game and all 3 phases kicked in and supported Cooper after a shaky start.

They want to be champions, this kind of thing has to happen.

We didn't fall apart when Garrett had to replace Aikman in those Super Bowl years.

Great win for Rush. Plenty of room to clean up some things and get better.

For those who thought Cooper Rush wouldn't do well last night, was that a rush to judgment?:)

The expectations were so low how can you not raise a glass and give a nod?

Having said that. Teams have tape on Rush now in a real NFL game at full speed.

So here is to hoping Dak is back next week.

The dude did what a backup QB is supposed to do.

He did what guys like Weeden, Cassel, Johnson ect have consistently been unable to do.

Come in, drive the bus. Get a W when you need it in relief of the guy.

Kudos to Rush. He's a real backup QB. The guy has done Kosar/Peete/Garrett work.

Absolutely not.

I’ll take Parsons at pass rusher any day than his current form at linebacker.

He played as good as he could tonight and it’s still nothing compared to his pass rush ability.
They actually used him in a number of roles last night. More as a traditional LB, but he also lined up on the line of scrimmage as a pass rusher, and blitzed from the LB spot as well. I think it's smart to move him around like that so it's harder to know where he will be attacking from.

He played well and thank God he had the best supporting offensive cast in football surrounding him.

Some great throws, some crap throws but the impressive part was him audibling out of a run by recognizing that amari had single coverage for the fade TD pass

It’s wasn't a superhuman stroke of football intelligence, but it took guts for a first time player to make that decision because if that pass isn’t perfect,,,it’s picked off and game over

It was an unknown but it’s hard to expect an unproven, never played guy to play at a high level

He had highs and lows but most importantly didn’t lose the game for us. Exceeded expectations for sure

Garrett's career here is full of hyperbole. Do people just forget what they watched during that era? It's like a one Thanksgiving game, where Garrett was basically tossing some bombs that our WRs happened to come down with immortalized him as some legendary back-up, when in reality he was a thirst stringer that got roster spot because of his pops.

Garrett wasn't here the first year we won the SB and Beurlein was the only back-up. He wasn't a 'disciple' of Norv, he had one year under Norv as an OC. Second, we got Kosar as the main backup in 1993 and the main QB during the relevant stretch we needed back-up QB play in 1993. Kosar got us the clutch win against the 49ers, our main rivals, during the regular season, which still gave us the mental edge over them. Then Rodney Peete in 1994 with Switzer was our secondary back-up. And then Wade Wilson was our primary back-up in the season we beat the Steelers.

Jason Garrett was essentially a third-string QB, filling the role, because his dad brought him over, like the rest of the brothers. He came in 1993... EVen his other brothers had brief stints here as back-up QBs, because their dad got them here.

Thank you Parsons and Gregory for letting Cooper throw 40 ducks and some landed

Yep, sign me up for another medium well done Crow Burger on this kid as well as my previous one on Steele. I love the taste of crow now.

The kid showed mental toughness, resiliency and that internal fortitude to just keep at it.

He's not the most physically gifted, but he hung in there and got the ball to his playmakers when it mattered most.

Great job Rush.

Go Cowboys

I saw some straight up moxie by the dude that I didn't quite expect. My blood was a RUSH-in!
