I'm sorry but there is something mentally wrong with some folks around here. Rush put up 76 yards passing that is it, I love he has come in and played relatively error free ball but if Dak up up 76 yards passing you guys would be all over him. Fact is only thing holding the offense back in Rush.
I mean you're not wrong, we should not be looking at Cooper Rush as anything more than a bus driver QB. He is not the future, hes not a long term high end starting QB in this league. He is a solid fringe starter/high end backup. With that said though you we can continue to knock the people pushing for Rush to keep the job or we can acknowledge that it's been poor play back Dak that has created this conversation to begin wtih. In his last two games Dak has put up the following lines:
121 yards on 14/29 attempts and 1 int - loss
204 yards on 23/43 attempts and 1 int - loss
So Rush has a game of 76 yards on 10/16 and 0 ints, but gets the win I think it is more than understandable why some fans feel more confident with him as QB right now. I don't believe for a second that Rush will lead us to victories in shootouts, but how many shoot-out type of games is this team really going to be a part of this year? Dak has a much higher ceiling than Rush, but the question of if the Cooper Rush style is a better fit that plays to the makeup of the 2022 Cowboys is a fair question.
I think the bigger questions are can Dak adopt some of that Rush style of play? Is it realistic for Rush to continue to not turn the ball over? I'm not sure the answer to the Rush v Dak debates, but I think to completely ignor the other side of the argument is silly. Rush is one loss away from the debate pretty much going away, but if these Cowboys knock off an undefeated Eagles team next Sunday I'm not sure this debate doesn't intensify 10 fold.
