Twitter: Cooper Rush is the only Cowboys QB to win his first 4 starts

The last time we over hyped a backup QB who won 11 straight games we benched and released a better QB because we got wrapped up in the hoopla and hype . I’d hate to see us do the same thing again.

It happens. To be honest, I was Romo's first fan. Or at least one of his most vocal early fans, that is. But the writing was on the wall at that time: Dak was the future.

Romo only had another year, maybe two left in him anyway. So Dak only made sense, and I can see why Jerry made a long-term decision rather than a short-term one that projected over two years with Romo, based on the data he had. Besides, in hindsight, it was likely the correct decision. Dak hasn't won the Super Bowl . . . OK, neither did Romo. And he was also a good player.

In some ways, I see the smart aspects of Romo in Cooper Rush, without the gunslinger mentality that's break or bust for you team.

Love his style.

But I like all of these players, because they've played respectably for my team.

I can't believe how far I've come in terms of believing in this player's ability.

To think he was dangling over the waiver wire, just a few weeks ago. And I personally didn't think he had anything to him based on his preseason play. But, man, I was wrong.

His success has made it so it's likely not possible we'll be able to dangle a backup over the waiver wire again for quite some time. I won't be surprised if someone scoops up Grier just to kick the tires on him. lol. I may have to buy a Cooper Rush jersey, though, to support him. And I've never been a jersey kind of guy.

I still like Dak, and it's a tough call for me. I truly appreciate both players in their own right. Mucho respect for Cooper Rush from me though.

100%.

Either way, to either extreme. Both players have been good statistically. One is undefeated. Over a short span.

They both need to be good to be the best team possible.
Understood but these type of stats are all too often used by the extremes to spin their narrative.

If you think Rush should be our starting QB over Prescott then that’s an argument fans can wage.

But in an anonymous forum setting such as this and with the history of some fans agenda it can become very suspect the intent.

So what do you suggest? Keep on the same course you are criticizing? or try to change it and STILL criticize it?

Like you don't have a narrative? You don;t have an agenda?

come on.

Dak may have been the future but in the moment if Romo was healthy enough to play did Dak provide our best opportunity to advance. Jethro just rode with the public wave.

When did the Cowboys ever advance with Romo?

And can we please stop acting like Dak was the reason the Packers had four TD drives of 75 yards or more, scored 34 points, and got a GW FG in 30 seconds. Romo wasn't taking that team any further than Dak did with 31 points. The defense wasn't good enough, as was the case for most of Romo's career.

2009 and 2014. Both years Cowboys won a playoff game with Romo advancing to Divisional round. I was at the one in 2014.

And while I’d agree Romo never had the defense either I’d of like our chances better with Romo in a shootout. If you recall Prescott got off to a slow start and needed a strong comeback to make the game interesting. And he missed a critical throw in endzone which could have forced GB and Rodgers to need a TD instead of FG on final drive. Just saying..that’s my take.
