Scrap the Rudy Ruetiger stories at QB and get a blue chip QB and use Dak as a backup like he was drafted to be. Cooper is a practice squad QB at best. The only reason why he was a back up last year is because his competition was only practice squad quality too.

It is sad to watch.

Either talk about situations that are pretty self evident or even worse, the past.

Pretty soon, there will be a "who was better, Emmitt Smith or Barry Sanders?" thread.

Any Cowboys fan worth their salt right now should be sickened by the team's actions in free agency.

And no, it is not about "saving up" and then swooping in for the "bargains".

This is a step below dumpster diving. This is like lapping up the seeping liquid that trickles out of the back of the dumpster.

He could be our Kirk Cousins. If Dak pans out then we have somebody who might have trade value down the line and if Dak's game starts to fall apart then maybe he can step in and keep us from having to start from scratch.

So yeah, I want to see what he can do.

Plenty of back ups built careers after having one wonder season. Matt Cassel and Matt Flynn comes to mind.

You know Rush was great last year in preseason

We had a chance to play him in week 17,you know, showcase him to the league, see if he could be our backup qb, build his trade value. The game was meaningless and it would have been much better had we lost.

But we decided to keep him on the bench because Jason Garrett just couldn’t be 8-8 again.

We aren’t just talking about bad decisions with our team. We are talking about complete ineptitude all the way at the top to the bottom.

Excited to see him play, uneasy relying on him as QB2.

Agree. This fan base has a long and storied love affair with the backup QB. Maybe he's Kirk Cousins, but maybe he's Matt Flynn. If he's the later, we're better off from a trade stand-point to not expose him other than preseason. I'm with ya on having a solid veteran as a backup, but I wouldn't expose Rush on the Practice Squad because I would expect him to get poached.
