Cooper Rush

May get poached.

Depends on what he shows, if he is not showing more than Rush then why would teams so call poach him when they would be forced to put him on the active roster? I think coaches will go with the QB they see produce the most. It appears Rush will likely get the starting nod tonight and White will come in afterwards. Myself I'm hoping both go out and have a good showing tonight.

I wonder if our starters don’t get a series. With new WR they may need the game experience.

Sense I am getting is not likely. If Dak comes in it would be no more than a series but I highly doubt that for tonight's game

I wish they'd get the starters out there tonight, and treat the second game as the dress rehearsal. More time to rest hamstrings and ankle sprains.

This passing games needs a lot of work with the new faces and known deficiencies.

Our fearless leader is pretty conservative. If it’s me I play them a series or 2.

I doubt any of the teams will be putting starters out there in game 1 of the pre season. I think game 2 Dak will see action, game 3 will likely get a half to play and then have him and other starters sit out 4th game. That is fairly common and not just in Dallas.

That’s why I would do it for a few series or a quarter. I don’t care what the other team does.

They won't for one reason.

Public backlash if somebody got hurt, which is stupid. This offense needs reps.

Plenty of them with game speed and not practice or TC. Padded game speed.

Maybe. I would hate that to happen if he is capable of being another Matt Moore or better. That's one we shouldn't have let get away. But if he is another Dustin Vaughan, or worse, not a problem. Hopefully the team will have a better feel for that than I do.

last years preseason #1 qb in the nfl
higher than Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers!
(they didnt play but whatever)

Reminds of when Dwayne Harris led the whole league in preseason as well.

I was in Oxnard last week on vacation... I went to training camp while I was out there.... Dak was throwing 46-60 yard bombs and hitting his target... I know it's only training camp so we'll have to see what he does during games...

But Rush and White were out there throwing long bombs too... All were about the same distances...
like or hate him, Garrett said 9 routes or 'go' routes average completion is 42 yards (starts @2:36) -he was a pro qb so i assume he knows more than the average fan
with Rush he doesnt throw passes on a rope (he doesnt have the strength to) but he does seem to put them out there where the receiver can go get them
anyway, it doesnt really matter i just remembered someone asking Garrett about the deep pass

Was hoping to see a quicker release with more zip but haven’t seen that this far

The release is one that finds the target, whether it's quick enough or not. Understand that he's still a youngster under an early stage of development. He's been extremely successful in college if you care to check out his credentials. Trust his level of success when he's in the pocket delivering the best of what he's got. Then, tell me it's not enough if you care to. Just give the guy a chance and you might be glad you did.

I'm a fan of Cooper, but, you need to have a quick release if you lack arm strength to be a good starter

People keep talking about about CRush arm strength, but last pre-season he showed nice accuracy and touch. For those that actually watched the games, he seemed to energize the offense and showed good command and instincts. Yeah, he played against scrubs, but he excelled and did everything that was asked of him. He showed that he might develop into a solid backup. I hope he and White tear it up during the pre-season. Having two solid looking back-up QBs is a nice problem to have, provides good competition and good insurance. It would also give us some nice assets down the road to make a deal.
