Cooper Rush

Why the surprise bud....with performances like last years how worse could Rush be????

Lmao. This is pathetic. There are 3 bad games in this pic. Also, where are the rest of his games through his career? Oh yeah, you cherry picked.

Cooper Rush is pathetic. If he has to start, it will be 2015 all over again.

My guess is Mike White will end up with about 45,000 fewer NFL passing yards and 265 fewer TDs than Vinny did.

Based on last night?

No quarterback can play without any pass protection whatsoever and receivers who have no idea where they're going.

A little based on last night, but also a lot based on being a later draft pick and a 3rd team player and the fact we already know what Vinny did and it's far, far from assured that White will ever get a starting gig. That said, I agree completely it's too early to say that with certainty, which is why I said that it was my guess rather than present my comment as a certainty.

White is tough, and he basically led the nation in passing in college. He scored 45 points a game.

It'll be 2-3 years before we know much else.

Absolutely we wont know for sure for a few years. I agree with that.

White was actually 4th in the nation in passing last year. Still very good, but just for the sake of accuracy ...

Even so, it's fair to point out that big college passing stats aren't very reliable in determining who will be a quality NFL QB. If you go down the all time single season NCAA passing leaders list, it takes getting to #39 on that list (Matt Ryan) to find a QB who had a strong NFL career. In fairness, Derek Carr is #9 on the list, and he at least has the start of what could be a strong career, and there are 2-3 others that are somewhat higher than Ryan on the list and may end up with very good careers, but the highest of those is #18 (Mason Rudolph). It's really surprising how few of the top 100 college passing seasons were by QBs that ended up having strong NFL careers.

Antonio Ramiro Romo

Antonio Ramiro Romo

Yep, like with Romo, we wont know for several years. But it is fair to recognize that Romo is far from the rule. I don't eliminate White as someone who could have a strong NFL career, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Well all of the undrafted free agent QBs, I believe three of them made even remotely good. Correct me if wrong - Jeff Garcia, Tony Romo and Kurt Warner. That's it, in the long and storied history of the NFL, none of the rest of them had a very noteworthy career. So the odds are long against an UDFA ever amounting to anything more than a feel good story to their buddies about how they once made an NFL roster.

Part of me can't help but wonder how much of this is the coaching philosophy and scheme.

Seems like the longer Dak and him are in this offense the more it becomes this safe throw, check down mess.

Half the plays are TE running a 2 yard out, some on a hook etc. Very little vertical.

The whole premise of Rush vs. Dak is dumb.

I don't need Rush to be Aaron Rodgers behind Favre, or in this case, Dak

All I need Rush to develop into is a Steve Buerlien type backup that can come in, run the offense competently, and hopefully do enough to put your team into position to win.

I think he shows alot of promise of being that guy.

Dave Krieg, Mike Tomzack, Jon Kitna, Erik Kramer, Jake Delhomme Warren Moon, Jim Zorn, et cetera.

And that negates c.rush strength of anticiation and throwing at a developing window, ie throw the receiver open.

I’ll be happy if either White or Rush just become a strong backup who can keep the ship afloat if the starter goes down for awhile.

No, that’s not what anything remotely close to half the plays are. We may not throw downfield a lot, but there is a lot of room between 2 yard passes and downfield passes. It’s not one extreme of the other.

Kellen Moore set the NCAA record for wins by an FBS quarterback, and how'd he turn out?

You're right, to this point we know little about how White will turn out...

Johnny Unitas was a ninth round pick or today what is an UDFA. Can't compare draft picks over eras.

sorry only one bus driver with accurate issues per bus...
Funny, all you ever do is bash Dak, discredit all the good throws he has made time and again. Your sig as much as states your a hater of the kid. Yet, 1st pre season game comes out 4 for 4 and a TD, and still all you have is I can't stand that &^%^%$ dude as my QB. Why not just come on out and say what we all know your thinking, you just can't stand a black kid as a cowboy QB. Your racism for Dak Prescott is stinking up the joint as usual.
