Very hard to evaluate last year's performance for the cornerback group; loss of Parsons pass rush, conservative scheme and injuries play a big part in their struggles. It just felt like they were disjointed from the front 7 and the back-end which led to a ton of blown coverages.

Bland-very inconsistent throughout the season, 1 good game followed by one terrible one. We found out he was dealing with a foot injury throughout the season which lead to another surgery this offseason. A former turnover machine, had just a handful of pass breakups. The loss of pass rush really affected his playmaking skillset. Can he stay healthy? Can he return back to that playmaker with a better pass rush?

Revel-a talented corner that fell to the 3rd rd due to an acl injury. He had a setback in camp that caused him to miss almost the entire season. With no offseason, they just threw him into the fire late in the year. Started off playing well, then really had his struggles where teams were targeting him with great success. We have no idea if this kid can play, but considering the circumstances he deserves a mulligan. This will be CP's pet project. Has all the raw traits, now they have to get that potential out of him. Can he win a starting job?

Durant-probably the de facto starter, unless Revel or someone else wins the job. He is that so called "bridge" veteran starter who allows time for a younger prospect to develop. Doesn't have those physical traits that McClay usually targets but he is a capable starting caliber corner.

Moore-I would put him in that same category as Revel. Has all the physical traits for the position, he just needs to develop into a quality corner. Unlike Revel, he is even more of an injury risk. Has missed a ton of games on the college level. Can he push to become a starter as a rookie?

Stewart-he actually was one of the better defensive backs last season. Can play the slot and even safety in a pinch. Has a good chance to stick as that versatile backup.

Carson/Butler/Bridges/Kendricks-put all these players on the outside, looking in category. They must win a roster spot in camp. If the team does sign another veteran, these players will be looking to play elsewhere.

If Bland is still our best corner after mini-camp, we're in trouble. That Arizona game was not good for him

Poor safety play was the problem with our secondary last season. Thompson and Downs change everything. We have never had two safeties like these two. Both can play the slot, sit on the roof, and play the run.

It has some theoretical talent but the ceiling is still pretty low. They don't have a single player who can provide any sort of reliable man coverage on the outside.

That was just a bad game. He’s still the best corner on the roster. He’s the only all pro. The hope is he’s heathy. If he’s not….gonna suck.
He was an All Pro playing a lot of slot, three years and two foot injuries ago. He's never been a particularly good outside corner.

He was an all pro covering the other team's 3rd best wide receiver. Diggs and Gilmore were 1 and 2.

The CB room is an injury mess. Bland's foot is still a big question, and Revel hasn't shown anything yet. Those 2 guys are supposed to be our starting CBs which why we are still trying to add a quality veteran. Maybe Devin Moore is better than his draft position? This is going to be the leagues most interesting defense. If they are good, we might be looking at a deep playoff run. If they aren't, the Jets will be sitting pretty and the Q Williams trade will be having a lot of shade thrown at it.

It continues to be obvious how much the loss of Parsons exposed the glaring weaknesses in every other defensive position group.

Some will point out Super Bowl defenses without an elite pass rusher, but around here at least, not having one is a problem

When you're rebuilding that side of the ball they're all going to be? Parker's a question mark technically his whole staff is going to be the first time in this role I'm not that worried about it and I know you're starting this because that guy just got released and you don't believe they've done enough but when you look at Downs as being a nickel guy he covers safety and corner because it's a slot corner that that's why you picked the guy it helps both the corner room and the safety room.

They should give a look to the guy that just was released from the Colts I know some people on Twitter that wanna even give him a look but now you don't have to trade for him maybe he'll come in on a cheap deal like Jennings did with the Vikings..

But I'm confident in this room right now I believe the free agents they picked up I believe our guys will have a better year But yeah it's all up in the air For one they need to try to avoid the injury bug which is luck bad luck they've had a lot of that in the back end the last two years...

But if they can stay healthy I think overall on defense they've done enough Now if they bring in a few different players on all levels of the defense you know in June or July when they get a better look at camp and whatnot then I'm all for it but I'm OK with just taking this group and let's see what happens...

No doubt he had his struggles throughout the year, but really think the lack of pressure and a DC who refused to generate pressure affected his play. He also was playing hurt since early in the season. It is a very important season for him as the Cowboys can get out of his contract next yr.

You will be lucky if he’s even healthy..my gut tells me the team isn’t confident he is healthy
By not touching his contract, that signals they aren't convinced.

Scheme was a total train wreck where all positional groups struggled and Eberflus kept on sitting in those soft zones with sending any pressure.
