I remember a time as a teen when I found a stray cat in our garage. Couldn't get the stray to vacate so I put some gloves on, trying to corner the scared 'kitty-cat' and carry it out. Bad decision! When I went to grab it that "little cat" turned into a tiger. That critter chomped right through my gloves and nearly right through my hand. Taught me a hard lesson.

Cornered cats fight way above their weight.

The Cowboys have played like cornered cats the past four weeks. They were hemmed in by a 3-5 record, playing for their lives. They fought hard and they've been rewarded w/4 consecutive wins.

I would argue that a desperate team will beat a better team as often as not.

Which brings me to my point and my concern: The Eagles are now that desperate team. I expect them to win Monday night and I expect them to give us a hellacious fight next Sunday.

It's impossible for any team to stay emotionally charged for every game. But can we keep enough of that underdog/cornered cat attitude through these next four games? How?

And before we get a dozen predictable posts bashing Garrett...let me appeal to keep this thread discussion positive.

I like that we have a few extra days to rest and/or prepare. We're a little banged up, but you're right - the Eagles are certainly desperate, which is basically where we were just a few weeks ago. Then again, even in Eagles wins that I've watched this season, they are just a shell of the offensive power house that they were only a season ago. They've willed their way to several wins this season, even when outplayed by teams like Indianapolis and NYG.

I think this game will be close, especially if we keep coughing up the ball like we did on Thursday night. I think Ertz will have a big game. I think Wentz will throw for two scores. But at the end of the day, I think we are just too physical and too athletic for this team to burn us. That being said, any given Sunday.

I have been saying the same thing. There is not as much emotion in pro football as college football, but the team that needs the win the most is usually the team that wins unless there is a huge disparity between the teams.

The Eagles will need the win or they are effectively out of the race for the NFCE. They will give us their best game.

I would expect nothing less that an all out war with rival.. we arent out of the woods ourselves, we dug hole and with first on the line we cant take it easy, zeke has made mention of this after all 4 wins, sates cant let our guard down yet..we should be of the mindset that 10-6 is the goal, that means 3-1 or win out..we cant let up at all..the division is far from over

Agreed. We need to be desperate to get that 3 or 4 seed, desperate to put the dagger in the Super Bowl champs, desperate to keep Stephen A permanently beat down. STAY DESPERATE!

You ain't lyin' - we had a stray cat give birth to some kittens under our deck last week. Tried tirelessly to get her out because it's freezing cold out and she was HELL to deal with.

Nevertheless, 4 weeks ago we were looking at possibly going 0-4:

@Falcons (2016 NFC champs)
@Eagles (2017 super bowl champs)
Commanders (division rival; short week)
Saints (hottest team in the NFL)

NO ONE truly thought the boys would do what they did and win 4 straight against those teams. They can't stop now - the fun has just begun!

Did you keep to cat for rabies testing ?

Weren't the Packers a "cornered cat" ? How'd that work out for them today against one of the weakest teams in the league ?

First things 1st ; let's see what happens tomorrow night..............................

Dallas knows they need to keep winning because 1 loss could drop them to 2nd or 3rd place which means they could be out of the playoffs.

With the packers, panthers, Falcons, and probably the Vikings losing today - we're in the mix for the wild card now as well. I would much rather win the division - but yea.

I don’t know how else to say this - the Eagles are a BAD football team. They’re not the team that won the super bowl last year. They’re going 6-10.

I don’t even know if they can beat the Commanders at home.

Their entire secondary is hurt. Their running back core is decimated. Their offensive line is down. And more than anything, the loss of a few coaches really has exposed Pederson as a fraud.

If they beat the Commanders on Monday night, it’ll be the last game they win for the rest of the season.

I’ve got an orange tabby that’s strictly a house cat that wouldn’t last two seconds outdoors.

Packers seem to have resigned themselves.

Damn stray ran off (finally) afterwards. I was worried about rabies though never tested. I guess I act rabid on here, now and then, but otherwise seem OK. ;)
