I lost complete respect for these guys. Not everyone is going to put Peterson atop their Heisman list. But these guys didn't even have Peterson listed in their top 5 Heisman vote. I know you have to respect people's different opinions yada yada yada but this is sheer stupidity and both guys are simply trying to be contrarian and stand out. Herbstreit's rationale was that Peterson was a novelty. Uh...being second in the nation in total rushing yards is not a novelty Kirk. And then he tried to argue that Benson was having a better year. Not only did Peterson outrush Benson by 133 yards when they went to head to head but his average yards per carry is greater as well. Peterson's biggest games have come against quality opponents like Texas and Oklahoma State. Benson's yards have all come against scrubs. The only quality team he faced was Oklahoma and he didn't even break 100 yards.
