Such a great day (even though yes it is at the expense of some careers...hey they are young, they'll be okay)...

No more Stanback, no more Brown, but then...Procter's name not on the list...

What is it...does he have pictures of jerry or something??!?!?!?!?!?!? Explain to me how this turnstile is still on this team...

(Carpenter would have been the only other gift, but even I knew that was a stretch.)

That's a very good question, and no one knows other than the fact that the guy has been here and knows the system. Not that he has the skill to execute the system, but he does know it.

Jerry just so happens to be a HUGE Free Reign fan.

His (alleged) versatility (backup guard and backup center) makes it tougher to find a replacement?

That's a pretty good answer.

He knows the line-calls. Preston doesn't at this point.

When Brewster comes off of the PUP list, I wouldn't be surprised if he took Proctor's spot on the roster.

Waiting for Preston to get up to speed with the playbook. Once they feel comfortable with that, Procter is out unless one of the guards gets injured.

More worried about only 4 corners on the roster now and Jenkins playing with a bone spur.

I wouldn't be surprised that when Preston is more comfortable in the Cowboys' system, we will then churn C Proctor.

Yep, and it may not take that long if they find somebody worth looking at off the wire. Proctors knowledge of the sysetm and the fact he plays 2 positions is keeping him around...

Proctor can play in the NFL. He has value. Our system exposes him because we ask our lineman to win one on one battles, which isn't his strong suit. There are a lot of teams on which he would be an adequate backup. Have you seen the Colts offensive line? How about Denver? I think Jerry is trying to drive up his value - maybe get a 7th rounder or someone excess DB. He clearly doesn't fit our system but he has a place in the league.

Well, since you put in multiple "?" and "!" you're obviously serious about your question.

I think Procter is on the Cowboys simply to be the Zone's whipping boy.

I mean, if he was replaced, who would join Carpenter as the most reviled Cowboy?

My guess, Miles Austin.

question - If he's on the roster week 1, don't we guarantee his million dollar salary for the season? I think something happens before week 1, and I don't know that Preston will be up to speed yet.

I am trusting that Jerry and Wade have a plan for OL
