Commanders | Gibbs informs Raymer of his pending release
Mon, 6 Mar 2006 18:34:16 -0800
Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Commanders head coach Joe Gibbs has informed OC Cory Raymer he will be released, according to several of the team's players and their agents.

I do not know much about him....

Where would he stack up against Kevin Mawae?

Comparing Mawae to Raymer would be like comparing Curtis Martin to Troy Hambrick.

Raymer hardly played at all last season as he was replaced by Casey Rabach whom I had listed as the 2nd worst center in the league statistically last season.

Raymer came in for the Seahawks playoff game when Ray Brown got hurt and was quite frankly awful as Seahawks defenders kept blowing right by him.

I'll save you all the trip to ES. Raymer is awful. I hope he wears a star next season. :)

Al Johnson is a lot better than Raymer.

Sometimes it looks like Raymer is actually trying to avoid blocking anyone.

He was good in DC his 1st stint back in the Norvall years.

He's a good guy, but his body and skills just aren't there anymore.

I think he appeared in two games last year.

Rabauch replaced Friedmen I think at Center.

What is it with Wisconsin O-linemen? Raymer-2nd Rnd, Rabach-3rd round, Aaron Gibson-1st rnd, Al Johnson-2nd rnd. Just quit drafting these guys so high.

Thank god Larry Lacewell isn't running the scouting dept. anymore, he might take your advice.
