This is a player at the wide receiver position that shows good skill sets
He is the type of receiver that is not dominating at any one facet of his game, but is more than capable at many parts of the wide receiver position
He has a good pair of hands, has the mentality to attack both the ball & defenders, and he has the quick burst which gives defenders little time to react to him after the catch
He may not have the ideal size and stature you may look for in a receiver, and would benefit from gaining both strength & weight, especially some size in his legs, even with those few drawbacks all he does is make plays, which makes him very valuable
Update (01-10-06) TCU wide receiver Cory Rodgers is heading to the NFL. Rodgers, a junior who was probably the Horned Frogs' most dazzling playmaker on offense and special teams this past season, said Monday that he will skip his senior season and make himself eligible for April's NFL Draft. Rodgers said he made up his mind to leave TCU after spending a week with his family in Houston after the Horned Frogs' recent Houston Bowl triumph over Iowa State. "It was a really hard decision," Rodgers said. "I'm having fun in college, but I feel like it's time for me to move on with my football career. I'm being given a chance to support my family financially." Rodgers was one of the nation's most spectacular return men, and he probably would have owned all of the school's receiving records had he opted to return for one more season. The speedy wide receiver ends his college career tied with Mike Renfro with a school-record 17 career touchdown catches and was 32 receptions shy of surpassing Kelly Blackwell for the most career catches. Rodgers had 150 receptions for 2,111 yards. He wasn't sure if another season at TCU would help him improve his draft status. "I think I made the right decision," Rodgers said. "I'm comfortable with it. Some people might say I should have stayed, and that's fine. But I made a decision that feels right, and I'm sticking with it."
