Is it just me, or does the NFL ignore coaches who verbally assault the refs?

Everytime a call goes against the Giants, Coughlin goes after a ref. He'll stand three feet from the guy and scream; "**** you!" over and over. Why doesn't he get a flag for that? He does it in every game I've watched.

And you can bet, if a player said it even once, he'd be flagged in a second.

the guy looks like a rat, and makes faces on the sideline which make it appear that he has a log in his bunghole the entire game

Coaches are not players and any coach will tell his players, "I'll deal with the ref you shut up" Coaches can go to far but it is the coaches job to get after the refs not the players.

I think that's a pretty good question. Why isn't it unsportsmanlike conduct? Note that the league will fine coaches for criticizing officials (I assume that case was in an after-game press conference).

(All that said, I have to admit that one 4th-quarter inteference non-call last night would have had me spewing curses if I were in Coughlin's place.)

Sounds to me like it was a makeup call.earlier in the game the db for Giants destroyed Jags wr at the goal line and no call.
