Could Darius Jackson = Reggie Bush?

That could be true but the word needs to be put on the trading block that DMC is available for the right offer. Making room for Darius to play a bigger role seems to be appropriate. These things tend to work themselves out. A preseason injury to one of the RBs could have some sway on the roster.

We haven't even gotten to training camp though lol. At this point al the is is impressive combine numbers. You can't change up your roster or release or trade guys without knowing what you have in these guys.

Then why did Houston let him go without a fight?

Probably was the 100 million that the Bills offered that caused him to leave lol.

The way I look at it, it's not actually all that out of the ordinary to give the occasional rookie a look at a different position. Short of Prescott having a Russell Wilson-like preseason, not likely, we're going to be carrying 3 QBs on the 53-man... there's just every reason to look at the possibility.

Yeah, no. I hated everything about Reggie Bush and his style of play. Jackson looks like he could end up being an incredible back.

Based on what, exactly?

If Jackson is half as good as Reggie, that'll be an accomplishment.

I get it that people get excited about draft picks in the offseason, I'm excited to, but I don't know that I've often heard the words "could end up being an incredible ____" associated with many late round picks.

Not to mention that Reggie, when he was on, was very good.

Some people were disappointed we didn't pick a WR. But I wonder if we did and we just don't realize it yet.

A lot of talk about this guy's measurables being freakish... how about Jackson in a combo WR/RB/KR role in the Reggie Bush vein (... ie, the one at USC, not nearly so much in the pros)?

He has the speed.

He appears to have hops that threaten Alvin Harper territory. In fact, compared to the other top receivers in this draft, he would have been the only one to show up in the top 3 for both the 40 yard dash and the vertical jump stats.

Good info on Eastern Michigan players is hard to come by, but at least he appears to have some reputation as a good receiver (albeit out of the backfield).

When you're looking for ways to be efficient with your 53 man, it sure does help to have a weapon that you can deploy in more than one role.

Of course, I doubt anyone credibly can offer any informed endorsement of this idea, or for that matter, any informed criticism, but I just have to throw it out there as a reasonable option.

(*bump*... since I can't edit the topic header, and just to be clear on the premise of the thread.)

I don't like WUSS style of play and that's what Reggie was. This kid has all the tools, but as I said before. Does he have it upstairs? That is the difference between a physical freak who can't play football (Christine Michael, AOA, etc) and a physical freak that can. (DeMarcus Ware, Sweetness, Von Miller, etc)
